In the analytics schema, we have fields cloudRoleName and cloudRoleInstance. When an application is deployed to multiple regions and each deployment is using a single instrumentation key, it would be useful to split data by the cloud geographic region that processed the telemetry,
e.g. cloud_GeoRegion, to contain data such as 'West Europe', 'West US', 'UK West' etc.
This would apply to any of the schemas, where cloudRoleName and cloudRoleInstance are recorded.5 votes
Sergey might be able to help you find ways to do this on your own. But we don’t have any plans to do this automatically in the App Insights SDK, given the breadth and telemetry size consequences of that kind of change.

We create an AI resource on customers behalf, but haven’t found a way to create a data source in the resource5 votes
This is still on the backlog as part of an effort at making all aspects of managing App Insights resources possible programmatically but there is not ETA at this point.
When tracing application behavior it's common to look for a specific sequence of traces in a web user session.
It would be helpful that once a trace is found and its properties displayed, to be able to click over a property and a new tab to appear looking for new traces matching the new criteria.
Then after clicking on a new property, it make sense to filter the secondary list of traces with this new property, and so on.1 vote
We are using AI for assessing the usage of features using custom events, but better ways of seeing changes in usage over time within Application Insights queries would be beneficial (new chart types and cohort groupings)5 votes
