"Not" filters in Application Insights
The application insights filtering is currently inclusive and not exclusive. I would like to setup a filter where all information about a filter is included EXCEPT a selected filter value.
For example, it is not possible to exclude metrics from ONLY Internet Explorer 8.0. I could select every filter except Internet Explorer 8.0, but then I will not see other new browser versions in the future as traffic comes from them.
This feature has now shipped and is live in the Metrics experience. You can now filter using exclusion and issue queries such as “AVG Availability" where “City” != “Houston”
Is exclusion filter available in the Application Insights portal to filter out noise when troubleshooting issues?

Is this tracked as a bug somewhere? When using the API it seems that it accepts a filter like `not contains(operation/name, 'whatever')` but doesn't actually do the filtering. This can be very misleading, in particular if the field you are filtering in is not a dimension/segment being displayed.
Any updates on this?
