  1. Where multiple app services send their telemetry to a single application insights instance, allow configuration of alerts at the app level.

At the moment app insights alerts such a server exceptions do not differentiate which app service threw the exception if there are multiple app services talking to the same instance.

    • Setting threshold for Available MBytes

We can gather Available MBytes (\Memory\Available MBytes) of Cloud Service as App Insights telemetry with setting Diagnotics configuration as pic1.png.
However, I don't know how can we determine the supplementary unit for that when we want to set an alert rule. The unit of it appears just "count" as pic2.png.
Also, as far as I checked, it is not "MBytes" but "Bytes" contrary to the name of the counter.
It would be nice if all unit of counters are displayed clearly.

      • integration send alert to third party (azure service bus, event hub, IFTTT, Slack)

Allow app insight integration with third party (azure service bus, event hub, IFTTT, Slack). Allow sending metrics or alerts on a schedule or on trigger to third party. For example, send alerts to Slack.

        • Automate the creation of Scheduled Analytics resources

We generate Azure Application Insights resources via ARM json templates and also need to generate the Scheduled Analytics and matching alert for those AI resources so we can reliably recreate the identical setup across environments. See attached for Azure Portal examples of what we need automated.

          • Application Insights: Alerts to include optional multiple conditions and CRON time

Add the ability to specify one or more conditions to trigger an alert.

For example, "Availability > 0 AND Function Count > 0" over last 5 minutes.

Also it would be nice to have some alerts running only between specific times hence the request for an optional CRON time (using UTC timezone).

For example, "Alert to run only between 9am - 5pm".

            • alert based on the filtered one

I'd like to receive alert by specific api controller response time such as '~/api/viewpost > 3sec'

We can monitor it, but cannot create an alert rule.

This request is similar to the link, and your team closed due to duplicate issue. But the link is broken; https://feedback.azure.com/forums/357324-application-insights/suggestions/9702621-alert-can-be-fired-with-metric-performance-counter

              • Add Surport to check Availability from China

As China is considered as different as per IT. We have the complaint from China customer for accession our web app which is Host in Azure East US Region.

And we found nothing for how to monitor Availability from China

                • Subscribe/Unsubscribe single email address from group email

We use group email address in our product in order to get email from azure monitoring alerts to specific teams/goals.
We found out that if a single person unsubscribe from the email alert sent from app insight the entire group will not be able to receive an alert email.

I vote for the following enhancements:
                  1) Enable single user from group email to subscribe/unsubscribe from a specific alert without affecting the entire emails in the group list
                  2) Enable in the azure portal to subscribe/unsubscribe for monitoring alert emails (in addition to the email send from app insight, which can…

                  • Add the ability to disable warning emails in Powershell

The daily cap warning level cannot be set or disabled via PowerShell, only the cap reached email or level can be set.

The PowerShell command Set-AzureRmApplicationInsightsDailyCap needs to be updated accordingly to accommodate for the warning as well.

Also, when adding a new feature like this, the PowerShel needs to be updated before the feature is released for public consumption. Otherwise admins get flooded by emails if they have a lot of app insights in Azure and they then have to manually go and disabled or set the cap for hundreds of app insights.

                      • Support action groups as an action for an alert rule

Support Microsoft.Insights/ActionGroups as an action for a Microsoft.Insights/alertRules

Action groups are supported elsewhere in Azure (e.g. Log Analytics and Azure Monitor) but not in Application Inisghts. It'd be great if we could use our action groups as a way to encapsulate our response to alerts from App Insights, OMS and Monitor.

                        Is this on the roadmap?

                        • Change metric based alerts that trigger over a rolling window to bar chart

I've noticed that alert conditions set to trigger when an Azure function fails multiple times over the course of a specified Period, don't actually trigger. That and the chart to help depict the condition doesn't represent the actual condition (alert_ex.png).

A bar chart may be a better representation (alert_propsed.png). Plus the alerts don't trigger based on the threshold, since they would never reach the threshold according to the current chart.

Let me know if more info is needed.
                          Thx,
                          Jemaal

                          • during Alert Create Rule: cannot read signal names to pick from

during Alert Create Rule: cannot read signal names in the pick list. To time consuming to go through all of them. This could be a quick fix.

                            • Set an alert threshold from a live metrics stream graph

While watching a live metrics stream, i noticed that i had a high error rate. It would be nice if there was a way to from a graph create an alert if the thing plotted crossed some threshold (failures per second was what i was looking at when i had this thought)
