Functions are great for building HTTP-based Apis. Our SMS-api supports both HTTP(S) and SMTP(Mail 2 SMS).
In order to use Functions, we would need to be able to bind one or more email domains to it and use email as triggers
We don’t plan to enable SMTP triggering directly – that said many email APIs allow you to notify a webhook on receiving. I know I have used SendGrid to send a trigger to a function (via webhook) whenever an email is received.
