  1. Bring Snapshot capability on Azure Stack

Azure Stack is not supporting Snapshot (Disk, Manage Disk, ...)

Out of the box backup capability are very limited (the sole option available consist to deploy an Agent on IaaS Virtual Machine to make some hybrod backup with an Azure Backup solution on the cloud and/or a 3rd party tool, but once again limited to what is "inside" a Virtual Machine + following Agent deployment on VM + interconnection with Backup Server Solution.

Snapshot support on Disk, Data, Storage Account will be a great feature to :
    * smooth difference with Public Cloud
    * ability to make "snapshot" manually by…

  3. External Enterprise SAN Support using iSCSI for Storage without a SOFS

Currently Azure Stack support for external storage is poor. The only way I know of to connect, for example, tenant VMs to external storage is via a SOFS that serves as the intermediate host between the SAN and Azure Stack. For high capacity and high performance storage needs, a traditional enterprise SAN (like DellEMC or NetApp) simply cannot be beat in terms of price and performance. Using SOFS adds unnecessary complexity and performance bottlenecks since there are now multiple hops between storage and VM.

Azure Stack should allow direct connection via iSCSI HBA to traditional SANs. I understand this will…

  4. IOPs upper limit applied to virtual disks

The application of IOPs upper limits (QoS) to virtual disks in line with the Azure-based storage profile for type of storage.

This is to prevent "noisy neighbors" affecting other tenants in a multi-tenant scenario

e.g. HDD (Standard) - Max 500 IOPs per disk

  5. Support ADLS Gen2 on Azure Stack

We are developing data solutions targeting both Azure and Azure Stack. We really want to use ADLS Gen2's hierarchical namespace and advanced security feature. However, they are not supported on Azure Stack which leads us to use suboptimum technology choice - use Gen1 blob storage. So please support ADLS Gen 2 on Azure Stack. As I understand some other Azure services also depends on ADLS Gen2, so this is a precondition to bringing those services to Azure Stack

  6. ASDK virtual disk resiliency setting

I would like to choose resiliency settings when deploying ASDK. 1TB storage is not enough if I deploy PaaS services on ASDK.

  7. Azure stack managed disk limited Toal size per subscription is 2TB

We create a plan with storage Quota 15 TB and added it in offer
create a subscrioption using that offer
while creating 4 disks of size 1TB we get an error "limit is 2TB"
I know default storage qouta 2TB and we don't use it we configure different quota of size 15TB

  9. Offer LRS Storage capability

When multi-scale unit in a region functionality is released, consider having a true LRS equivalent capability for when a stamp goes down, more than likely due to an S2D event.
