  1. VNET Peering in Azure Stack

Please consider to implement VNET Peering on Azure Stack (like available on Azure) to be able to connect VNETs within the Azure Stack Region without the need to provision VPN-Gateways

  2. Metering for Internet usage for tenants

Provide the metering for the network usage for internet traffic ingress & egress for a tenant.

This is essential for Service Providers in order to bill and recover internet usage costs

  3. ASDK: Extended network connectivity

I like the default ASDK setup that do not need extended network knowledge to get it up and running. That should stay as it is.

At the other hand, more advanced network setups where connectivity outside the ASDK environment can be needed. Some use cases:

    1. In our case we are running a Azure Stack proof-of-concept that includes connectivity to other systems and the internet

    2. Development use case were you are developing / testing your application and the application need existing test systems that are outside the ASDF environment. Think of: enterprise message busses, datawarehouses / databases, integration with…

  4. Possibility to make more than one connection to an external VPN endpoint

At the moment it is not possible to create multiple connections to an external VPN endpoint from the Azure Stack VPN-gateway for all tenants on the stamp. We would like to see this fixed/improved.

  5. Higher VPN bandwidth

VPN bandwidth seems to be at most 200Mbit/s. Achieving higher bandwidth over a VPN connection should be possible.

  7. Azure Stack DNS needs DNSSEC support

DNSSEC is required to be able to secure your DNS requests. At the moment this is not available. Our client requesting us more and more security compliancy : https://www.icann.org/news/announcement-2019-02-22-en

  8. Azure Stack Admin REST API - Add Tags within Public IP Addresses endpoint

We would like to make some automation on Azure Stack and PIP @ip address within Datacenter integration by using TAGS.

The REST API : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-ca/rest/api/azurestack/publicipaddresses/list?view=servicefabricactors-2.6.204 have tags properties available, but when we call the REST API Endpoint, the JSON response not reporting value setup within Stack :(

In term of usage, here 2 use cases.

use case 1 : if Public IP scenario is used for PIP and deployement, then by "default" the Public IP could be protected by Physical Firewall in front of Stack (ie Policy with low priority with Deny/Deny by default). Then, if the end user want…

  9. Support for IPv6 public facing IPs, both static and dynamic on Azure Stack

Azure provides support for IPv6 public facing IPs, both static and dynamic.

Havign equivalent features (IPv6) public facing IPs on Azure Stack (and without changing IPV4 on SDN) will allow us facilities vs ipv4-exhaustion on RIPE and Stack to make evolution on DC to support IPv6 on Regional Access Gateway, Router, Firewall around Stack to make it work.

  10. Add PTR support for DNS resolution of the external facing infrastructure services in Azure Stack

Some customers may need to define firewall rules based on URLs rather than IP addresses. For this to work for the incoming traffic, PTR resolution must be available for the IP range used by the external facing infrastructure services of Azure Stack.

  11. Add ability to report Public IP usage for Tenants for Billing Purposes

As a CSP we need to be able to report how many Public IPs our tenants are using.

We also need to be able to report which exact IPs are being allocated to specific tenants.

Currently we can only do it inside the Stack but it does not say which resource is using which IP.

None of the data from inside Azure Stack gets reported back via CSP Billing Portal.

Therefore, we not only cannot see who is using which IPs, but also are unable to bill for them.

  12. Conect VNET Address Space directly to customer network (Without VPN termination)

Ability to connect VNET address space to internal customer network directly without use of VPN gateway/IPsec Tunnel. Not all customers have VPN termination capability on internal network.

Specifically having the option when the deployment of MAS is on the internal corporate network and the MAS stack is used for delivering services to internal corporate users.

  13. Vtap support for Azure Stack

Hi Team, i would like to request for Vtap option on Azure Stack inline with the feature on Azure Cloud. This helps to extract critical telemetry based on network traffic.

  14. Please provide a way to quickly gather the MAC address of any VM, PIP, etc within the admin & tenant portals.

Some companies require tracking MAC addresses inside an IPAM system, having a quick way to obtain these would be helpful. I thought there was a way to do so prior to 1903 update? I can do so via PowerShell but its time consuming.

  16. The possibility to assign an public ip adres from an different IP pool.

It is possible to add an new public IP pool, only it is not possible to assign an IP address from that new IP pool to a new customer by using an offer and network quote. Or by creating an VM with an Public IP address and have the possibility to chose an IP address from that new pool.

  17. Virtual Network Service Endpoints on Azure Stack

Get Virtual Network (VNet) service endpoints on Azure Stack to allow us to extend virtual network private address space and the identity of our VNet to the Azure Stack services (PaaS such App Service, SQL (PaaS), Mysql (PaaS), Kubenetes, Event Hub,, over a direct connection.

  18. Retrieve the value of the fields associated to work item in Azure devOps using Rest API

We are trying to Migrate the Entity(EPIC, feature, user story & Bug) from another tools(TP,QC,JIRA) to Azure devOps using Azure devops Rest API(/_apis/wit/fields?api-version=4.1) as well Client.

But Rest API returning fields details but not field value and it will be good if Rest API will return field value as well because we can map field as well as value to another tool while migration.

  19. Add newer SKU supported by Azure (VpnGw1, VpnGw2, and VpnGw3.)

Azure Stack does not support a resize of SKUs between the supported legacy SKUs. Similarly, Azure Stack does not support a resize from a supported legacy SKU (Basic, Standard, and HighPerformance) to a newer SKU supported by Azure (VpnGw1, VpnGw2, and VpnGw3.)’

  20. Disassociate public ip from VM

As customer request after we set up the VM and configure the site to site VPN, we need to disassociate public IP from VM. So VM can be accessed from private IP address only.
