  1. View for customer Azure Stack VMs

We need a few where we can see all the VMs for all our customers via Azure Stack Admin portal. There are such views networks and storage accounts for example and I cannot understand why there is not such view for VMs. From that view we do not want to control the VMs like Start and Stop but we would want to see the size of the vm, the number of disks, the network adapters, their state, the network security groups, etc. Basically all the configurations of the VMs. This information also needs to be available in the Admin ARM…

  2. Bring back the rectangular marker from classic to multi-stage pipeline to mark the active deployment in the list of pipeline runs.

A small but very useful feature in the classic release pipeline of the Azure DevOps is the rectangular marker to indicate which deployment is currently active in a particular stage. This is gone with the introduction of multi-stage pipelines. Can we have this back?

  4. Nested Virtualization

Stack includes several F*s_v2 machines with hyper-threading. Still, however, nested virtualization is not enabled. Having access to nested virtualization in Azure Stack would allow the use of third party tools that depend on nested virtualization. These tools are an important part of the development/test/deployment cycle.

  5. Provide VM size data in invoice Reconcile File

Please provide the size of the VM in the invoice reconcile file. This is needed so we can charge differently for different series just like it is in Azure. Having that data only in usage API is not useful for us as we directly use the reconcile file. Also our customers will be able to see that data and see how much they've spend for each size.

  6. Ability to restrict compute sizes available to users

It would be very beneficial to have the ability to restrict what compute sizes are available to users via offers much like you have the ability to do in Azure Dev/Test Labs. as we are working with a restricted set of compute capacity it would allow admins to have more granular control.

  7. Azure Stack DNS needs DNSSEC support

DNSSEC is required to be able to secure your DNS requests. At the moment this is not available. Our client requesting us more and more security compliancy : https://www.icann.org/news/announcement-2019-02-22-en

  8. Support for IPv6 public facing IPs, both static and dynamic on Azure Stack

Azure provides support for IPv6 public facing IPs, both static and dynamic.

Havign equivalent features (IPv6) public facing IPs on Azure Stack (and without changing IPV4 on SDN) will allow us facilities vs ipv4-exhaustion on RIPE and Stack to make evolution on DC to support IPv6 on Regional Access Gateway, Router, Firewall around Stack to make it work.

  9. User Portal: Can View Marketplace Items not yet downloaded to Azure Stack

Currently, users can only view marketplace items that an administrator has downloaded using the admin portal. Request to add the capability for a user to view available items in Azure Marketplace, even if it has not been downloaded to the marketplace in Azure Stack yet. If the item is not available in Azure Stack marketplace, add the ability for a user to request the item, which triggers a notification to an administrator to download from Azure Marketplace.

  10. Cumulative Updates to the Stack

At this point updating an Integrated Stack is very cumbersome. It takes days to finish updating the stack. It adds to the woes that we cant skip an update to jump to the most current update level. We should consider being able to skip and install the most recent update. Stack anyways wipes and reloads the complete infra layer. It is more difficult to understand why this is not possible.

  11. Azure site recovery for Azure stack to Azure stack DR

Please support ASR for Azure stack to Azure stack failover. This will be a big relief for hosting partners, trying to bundle DR services without having to deal with partner products.

  12. Azure Stack Admin REST API - Add Tags within Public IP Addresses endpoint

We would like to make some automation on Azure Stack and PIP @ip address within Datacenter integration by using TAGS.

The REST API : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-ca/rest/api/azurestack/publicipaddresses/list?view=servicefabricactors-2.6.204 have tags properties available, but when we call the REST API Endpoint, the JSON response not reporting value setup within Stack :(

In term of usage, here 2 use cases.

use case 1 : if Public IP scenario is used for PIP and deployement, then by "default" the Public IP could be protected by Physical Firewall in front of Stack (ie Policy with low priority with Deny/Deny by default). Then, if the end user want…

  13. Azure Stack Meter List per API

Expose data of https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-stack/azure-stack-usage-related-faq as a simple API (A json file containing the data was already enough).

The should be an automatic way to get Azure Stack Meters, as we expect this list to grow :)

  14. Add the ability to check the progress of downloads when syndicating items from the marketplace

It would be great if the progress of downloads could be checked when syndicating items from the marketplace to Azure Stack, through the portal or PowerShell - percentage and download speed would be great.

  15. Add ability to report Public IP usage for Tenants for Billing Purposes

As a CSP we need to be able to report how many Public IPs our tenants are using.

We also need to be able to report which exact IPs are being allocated to specific tenants.

Currently we can only do it inside the Stack but it does not say which resource is using which IP.

None of the data from inside Azure Stack gets reported back via CSP Billing Portal.

Therefore, we not only cannot see who is using which IPs, but also are unable to bill for them.

  16. ASDK deployment on Azure virtual machine with nested virtualization

Why is not supported to run ASDK deployment on Azure virtual machine with nested virtualization ? For Development purposes it could be very benefitial.

  17. Deployment via ARM should support managed disks schema at the very least

I am not suggesting that all the technology of managed disks should be possible on Stack although this would clearly be useful. I think that, at the very least, Azure Stack should be able to deal with the managed disks schema in ARM templates without erroring thereby allowing for templates to be deployable seamlessly between Stack and Azure.

  19. Add PTR support for DNS resolution of the external facing infrastructure services in Azure Stack

Some customers may need to define firewall rules based on URLs rather than IP addresses. For this to work for the incoming traffic, PTR resolution must be available for the IP range used by the external facing infrastructure services of Azure Stack.

  20. External Enterprise SAN Support using iSCSI for Storage without a SOFS

Currently Azure Stack support for external storage is poor. The only way I know of to connect, for example, tenant VMs to external storage is via a SOFS that serves as the intermediate host between the SAN and Azure Stack. For high capacity and high performance storage needs, a traditional enterprise SAN (like DellEMC or NetApp) simply cannot be beat in terms of price and performance. Using SOFS adds unnecessary complexity and performance bottlenecks since there are now multiple hops between storage and VM.

Azure Stack should allow direct connection via iSCSI HBA to traditional SANs. I understand this will…
