Additional HTTP errors to be defined in Azure Application Gateway
In this moment in AAG we are able to identify and deal only with http errors 403 & 502. Please enable the option to identify also some other errors like http 500, 504, or 401.

Agreed. 504 Gateway Timeout is more meaningful when the upstream server(s) do not respond within the request timeout interval.
