Invoice-pdf in email for azure marketplace and reservations
I get my invoices for azure subscriptions via e-mail (attached pdf). My invoices for azure marketplace and reservations can only be downloaded in the portal. I would like to get those invoices as attached pdf in an email as well. Thanks!
I don't believe the fact that Azure Marketplace services do not support sending invoices by eMail is that big of a problem. Of course, as a customer, you need those invoices to reach your accounting colleagues automatically, but I think that if you don't have this option available, you need to find a solution by yourself, regardless of what the application can or cannot offer you. I mean, before using azure, when you started using a pdf online software like the one from https://pdf-ocr.com, I suppose you had to deal with this kind of situation, and you managed to find a way to go through it. Therefore, you will have to do it as well in this case.
The fact that Azure Marketplace services do not support sending invoices by eMail is definitely a problem!
We have on one hand technical staff like project managers or software developers that manage the Azure subscriptions and on the other hand we have accounting staff that need the invoices for their accounting.
Furthermore the first set of people just wants to consume services that are (automatically) paid.
As consumer in the first place I don’t care how many invoices you create for my consumption. But what I need is that those invoices reaches my accounting colleagues automatically as well.
Otherwise they contact me all the time regards invoices.
My job is to take care of the project and/or to develop and accounting job is to make accounting.
While everyone can do their job having sent the invoices by eMail we now have a problem here.
We have now asked our accounting colleagues to access invoices directly through Azure Portal.
But they are not happy! Imagine Azure is not the only service/software supplier. They don’t want to access several portals “hunting” for invoices. They expect the other way round that all invoices “come to them” e.g. by having a central eMail account for this.
So we really would like to see that the "design limitations" mentioned by Azure Support regarding this maybe can be overcome in the future?
This is definitely a feature that should have. We have not made the payment for the bills on marketplace and reservation until we got contacted by the collection department. Luckily there is no penalty or admin fee charges imposed to us.
This is causing us pain as well.
I would suggest it's causing Microsoft's accounts payables to be bloated.
We didn't realise our RI invoices weren't coming through (given VM licensing is still on the Azure bill).
Adding the ability to email these (now they can be by month and not fixed for 12 months) makes a lot of sense and will ensure we pay Microsoft on time.
On my creditcard I get about ten payments for Azure a month. With only the invoicenumbers to match them. Invoices for reservations take more time than the discount they offer. If you can realize this little feature, it would save time and money every month.
