Floating IP to work as a VIP
I would like to have a way to provision a VIP form my Virtual Network so we can have a VIP to use on the keepalived configurations. It's all about Linux environment, and a good source of information about that is here:
The VIP is configured on keepalived that uses VRRP to move the VIP over a MASTER and a BACK instance of Maxscale, running on two separate Virtual Machines. The keepalived package is so set upon those both Maxscale boxes and will move the VIP. The application access the VIP, the connections are so passed to the Maxscale and Maxscale route it accordingly to the backends - this is a pretty standard way of setting up the MariaDB TX when a replication cluster is of a customer choose.
Is there a way we can simply "Provision a VIP over your Virtual Network"?
My setup (Virtual Machines) is attached to make you better understand. I don't want any round-robin as the LB (internal or public) does. The connections reaching out to the VIP will be routed to just one Maxscale at a time. If the current Maxscale fails, the other assumes as a MASTER. The MASTER and BACKUP are terms used by Keepalived/VRRP.
I thank you in advance for the help on the previously mentioned matters. I'm looking forward to getting in touch with you folks.
I know this is kind of old... but perhaps anyone managed to do that? Did MS added support for that? I know that I can do this on AWS... it would be a shame if Azure would not support it.
