  1. Permalink for Azure status history

Currently, Azure status history ( https://azure.microsoft.com/status/history/ )doesn't have permalink. I want to have permalink per status/failuer.

    Current issues:
    * Status history feed hide status older than 90 days. I can't know older history.
    * I can't specify a specific status in history.

    Why permalink?
    * I should announse failuer or issue of Azure for customers when status updated (occurred and solved). In this case, I added evidence by quoting status report from Azure status history. However Azure status history doesn't have permalink and I should use quote always. That is weak as evidence. (They confuse and dificult look up issues…

  2. Support geo-replication for Azure SQL Database Hyperscale

We have several databases that is configured for geo-replication. Our databases are big (>1TB) in size but low in CPU usage. We expect to save quite a lot of cost by using hyperscale. Could you support geo-replication for Azure SQL Database Hyperscale?

  3. Build a data center in Lagos, Nigeria

Lagos is a coastal city, building a data center here will support the regional economies. It is nicely situated at the heart of Africa and can serve most of Africa. This will also play nicely with Microsoft's interests in on the continent.

Microsoft is expanding on its existing investments in Africa by delivering Microsoft Cloud Services including Microsoft Azure, Office 365 and Dynamics 365 directly from Datacenters located in Johannesburg and Cape Town South Africa. Initial availability is expected in 2018.

Stay tuned for more updates here https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/?v=17.14

  4. allow to report bugs, without paying for support

Found a bug in azure, trying to report this though is a nightmare. Seems I have to pay for a support package in order to report an issue with azure itself.

Sorry about the poor experience, can you provide more details on the bug? While this is an area we are working on improving, at present here are the avenues to report a bug:

    1.) MSDN Forums : (https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/home)
We have engineers looking through the appropriate Azure Forums and getting bugs reported and fixed where applicable.

2.) Feedback.azure.com : If a specific forum is available for the service you are reporting a bug on, you can also report it via this portal.

  5. Fix link forwarding where there exists only en-us version

    From page http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/hh369930.aspx

there is a link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=262845 to "Testing the Performance of an Azure Cloud Service Locally in the Compute Emulator Using the Visual Studio Profiler"

After clicking it, it forwards me to http://www.windowsazure.com/cs-cz/develop/net/common-tasks/profiling-in-visual-studio/ but it does not exists. After changing cs-cz to en-us manually, everything works.

Can you please fix link forwarding and fallback to en-us version where localized version is not available.

  6. fix the wording of the msdn benefit since it suggests credits can be used for anything.

I do still find this whole scenario very confusing, and poorly phrased..

    http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/member-offers/msdn-benefits/
This website says that I can use the credits towards 100 websites + DB...
Its only in the fine print a few pages deep that it mentions the test/dev only thing...

  7. Extended Event 'Script Session As' has a bug in SSMS

    SSMS Version 15.0.18369.0
    Operating System 10.0.18363
    SQL Server Microsoft SQL Server 2014 (SP3-CU4-GDR) (KB4583462) - 12.0.6433.1 (X64)

Create an extended event trace definition using the GUI with the storage option 'eventfile'. Set 'Maximum file size' in GB, save it.
Now if you try to script the definition it does not have the 'Maximum file size'.
    ADD TARGET package0.event
    file(SET filename=N'C:\testXE.xel',maxrolloverfiles=(6))

If I change the size to MB and script out with the max size.
    ADD TARGET package0.eventfile(SET filename=N'C:\testXE.xel',maxfilesize=(1),maxrollover_files=(6))

  8. Fix default firewall rule set for free tier Windows based VMs

    End Chat

Whenever a Windows based Free Tier virtual machine is created, the default firewall rule set includes a rule for inbound SSH. This needs to be changed to inbound RDP. Inbound SSH should only be for Linux based VMs.

  10. Application Gateways are a problem. They need around 20-40 minutes to update for every change.

They need around 15-40 minutes to update for every change. If we need to add any new backend in hurry it will cause problems. Also they seem unreliable while coming up. Sometime they come up and sometime they don't.
