  1. Allow e-mail unsubscribe

I have received three e-mails in one day from azure. One about downtime (I have no services right now), and two advertising features. None of these e-mails have unsubscribe buttons, and I cannot find a way to suppress them in the account page. All contact checkboxes are un-checked.

    • Why no datacenters in Middle East and Africa?

      Hi Microsoft,
I can’t help thinking that Microsoft is pursuing some sort of imperialist western agenda with the deployment of its worldwide Azure Datacenters! As an independent software developer based here in Dubai with clients right across Africa, The Middle East and the Sub-continent we currently have the choice of hosting in Western Europe (Amsterdam) which is between 6500km and 8000km away from our clients, or South East Asia (Singapore) 5000 to 11000kms away.
Guys it is time to realize that there is 2/5's of the world’s population nearby - let’s see something proactive in terms of datacenter deployment, and…

Microsoft is expanding on its existing investments in Africa by delivering Microsoft Cloud Services including Microsoft Azure, Office 365 and Dynamics 365 directly from Datacenters located in Johannesburg and Cape Town South Africa. Initial availability is expected in 2018.

      • Build a data center in Lagos, Nigeria

Lagos is a coastal city, building a data center here will support the regional economies. It is nicely situated at the heart of Africa and can serve most of Africa. This will also play nicely with Microsoft's interests in on the continent.

        • Allow App Service Environments to be added to existing Subnet

App Service Environments should be able to be added to existing VNET Subnets. Having to rework subnets in VNET is kind of a pain to add a new one or delete and re-add a subnet to accommodate the ASE.

We are going to add this back into the portal. You can do this now using templates but that isn’t as easy as just using the portal if you are making changes. There were a few issues that forced us to remove that capability from the portal but the issues are circumvented now.

          • Fix link forwarding where there exists only en-us version

            From page http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/hh369930.aspx

there is a link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=262845 to "Testing the Performance of an Azure Cloud Service Locally in the Compute Emulator Using the Visual Studio Profiler"

After clicking it, it forwards me to http://www.windowsazure.com/cs-cz/develop/net/common-tasks/profiling-in-visual-studio/ but it does not exists. After changing cs-cz to en-us manually, everything works.

Can you please fix link forwarding and fallback to en-us version where localized version is not available.

            • Azure's status board availability

The Microsoft Azure status board should live outside Azure's ecosystem just because when there is a problem with some Azure´s service, the Microsoft Azure status page may not be available for the same issue.

              • fix the wording of the msdn benefit since it suggests credits can be used for anything.

I do still find this whole scenario very confusing, and poorly phrased..

                http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/member-offers/msdn-benefits/
This website says that I can use the credits towards 100 websites + DB...
Its only in the fine print a few pages deep that it mentions the test/dev only thing...

                • you open a Azure Data Center in South Africa Cape Town .Alot of potential clients.

Alot of clients want to utilise Azure but they want to be able to select a local Data Center They want to know that there data is in the same country and secure. Especially companies dealing in Big data analysis for their clients in South Africa.

                  • Permission set per Management Certificate

It would be great to be able to configure which of the management APIs a specific management certificate is allowed to use. Currently there is no real difference between certificates, so having multiple are of limited value.

If management certificates are treated as roles, then it would provide many configuration options and better security w.r.t. how certificates can be used.

I could for instance create a certificate that only allows existing virtual machines to be started, but nothing else and then deploy that with an application, to a perhaps-not-fully-secure environment, without the danger of allowing someone who gets hold of…
