  1. swap

The Azure VM Backup and Azure Site Recovery processes both rely on freezing the filesystems of the Linux guests to provide a consistent point in time for snapshots to be made. This ensures that each independently snapshotted managed disk contains the same point in time as the others.

Due to issues with the handling of the freeze process by the guest OS, sometimes this freeze process cannot be reversed and the virtual machine hangs. (https://github.com/Azure/azure-linux-extensions/issues/95) This failure to unfreeze appears potentially related to how kswapd handles itself when it's using filesystem swap and the filesystem containing the swap…

  2. Co-existing Azure secured mailboxes (separate companies) on same phone

When a company uses Azure to secure/control a personal phone that is accessing company email, this conflicts with the user's school mailbox or other company mailboxes that use Azure. The result is we have to pick between seeing our work email or our school email when accessing email from our personal phones. When will Azure fix this problem, as it must be affecting MILLIONS of people? It seems there should be the ability to carve out 2 or more co-existing spaces so people can communicate with multiple separate email servers (unrelated ones) from one device!

  4. Using availability sets with multiple fault and fail domains still DOESN'T give you fault tolerance!

If you happened to create both VMs under the same storage account, it will NOT be as highly available as it should. Make it clear, in the portal, that you really should be using two or more storage accounts and not rely on Azure's 'supposed' fault tolerance with 3 local data copies. We've experienced several incidents in the last month related to this, where we lost both nodes due to a storage account failure.

In short, make it really clear what needs to be done to REALLY have fault tolerance.

  5. to have a way to start/stop search service included in QnA

(because now, it's not possible), because to have all time on this service it's not a good idea for development purposes.
Corrently the only way to do it is remove an recreate the service.

  8. Change the default user to logon to VM in Azure Labs

The RDP file uses the default user created during the template creation. I would like to be able to change the user specified in the RDP file to another user.

  9. Add detected source as part of /Translate response

Currently there is no way to translate a piece of text and see which source language you identified it as in one request.

You first have to make a request with the text to /Detect to get the language, then a request to /Translate to actually translate the text. This adds unnecesarry overhead on your systems because the /Translate call must identify the source language of the text again. It also doubles the cost to use your translator, since a 10 character sentence now would cost 20 characters to translate (due to the duplicate request), and it would take twice…

  11. Microsoft Dubai Datacenter

    Hi Microsoft Support.

I Have the best suggestion for your UAE, Dubai Datacenter, and technical Engineers.

You can connect your Dubai Datacenter to Russia and Ukraine via EPEG cable with low Latency about 90 ms. so please send my message to technical Engineering in Dubai to check it out.

The (Moscow Russia) latency with (Baku Azerbaijan) is 40 ms and the (Baku Azerbaijan) latency with (Tehran Iran) is 10 ms and the (Tehran Iran) latency with (Dubai UAE) is 40 ms, all of these test taken by different looking glass which this tool calculates the Latency as an approximation so…

  15. I seem to be unable to install copy of any MS server in the NATIVE (not a lang pack) of Brazilian/Portuguese language set (pt-BR)?!?

MS does funny things when deploying windows in a native language. i.e. when you install MS server v.pt-BR "administrator" becomes administrador. A language pack does not help us for software development.

How can I get a real native install of MS server (pt-BR)?

  17. Add multiple Azure Disaster Recovery Site in SCVMM based on customers subscription

It would be great if you guys could add multiple azure disaster recovery sites in scvmm based on customers subscription i.e. this would probably only benefit hosters.

  20. Object Explorer Tree: collapse at top level

When I bulk open registered servers they always open with each server expanded one level. This means I have to collapse them all one by one so that I don't have to keep scrolling. How about a "collapse all" button, or open them all without the first level opened?
