  1. Create 3rd part website FQDN tags for well-know site like github, linked.in in Azure Firewall Application rule

By configuring the Azure Firewall application rule, there was no FQDN tag for well-know 3rd part website like github, linkedin. This caused a issue that we need to whitelist all domains which the website resources hosted with.
For example, if I only add the *.github.com in Application rule, the picture hosted in github.githubassets.com will not be displayed when I tried to open it through Azure Firewall. It caused a lot of efforts to fully whitelists all domains which related with github site frontpage.

  2. feature request on portal to build SQL MI with minimal privileged custom role

we have been working with Microsoft to provide us a least privileged custom role for DBAs to build a SQL Manage Instance, because we do not want to have privileges to add/write the vnet, route tables, subnets, etc as in contributor role. so we created a custom role based on list of privileges shared by microsoft. The issue now is we were able to create the create SQL MI using Powershell scripts, but unable create from portal, failed with messages like 'write on subnet is required'. to know why the different behavior, below the feed back we received from Microsoft…

  3. Cost estimate for serverless database not affected by disabling autopause

When I choose a serverless Azure SQL database and make the min/max vcores as low as possible, the 'estimated cost' should be readily visible if auto-pause checkbox is disabled.

  4. storage percent usage metric alert for a azure sql instance resource

I can't find any options in the ui for setting a alert to the storage percent usage, only for fixed defined limits. Any options here. Can you provide a azure sql instance metric alert with "storage percent usage" please?

  5. Allow Azure Function HTTP endpoints to end with /bin

If a RESTful Azure Function HTTP trigger/endpoint ends with the product name of "/bin", a 404 error is returned to the client. This is an undocumented "feature", and there may well be other keywords that break an API in production.

Expanding this a little, if say a trigger is mapped to say: "products/{index?}", then "index" cannot be set to "bin", or the http client will get a 404 error before hitting your function - even if you have a product with the business key of "bin" available. Again, I am sure there are also other undocumented keywords as well.

    As…

  6. Azure wastes a LOT of my time with this pointless failure - Cannot modify this site because another operation is in progress.

This is pointless and wastes our time. The only way to fix this is to wait and/or retry the deployment.
Couldn't you do something sensible? How about automatically queuing a retry based on the release of a blocked resource?

    Come on Microsoft!

  7. Ability to develop python based Azure function directly in Azure portal

We would like to have ability to create python functions in portal/console directly but could not find one.
We would like to have this functionality in Azure portal.

  8. Azure App Service add support of bi-directional streaming for gRPC-Web

Currently, gRPC-Web supported by azure App service partially. bi-directional streaming is not supported by Azure App Service. Which is limits usage scenarios.

  9. Support Plan for Partners

THE PRICE of Premium and advanced Support for partners wishing to become CSP should be revised for new players entering the csp business in india. clearly beginners wont be able to spend 15k USD upfront tp purchase these support plans.

If support is charged case basis with no upfront fee, would be busness conducive. Thanks.

  10. More access to clients via delegated admin access

In October 2020, it is our understanding that Microsoft will further tighten security requirements to require that all admin accounts be MFA'd, a expansion to the delegated admin approach to client management is needed. Enforcement of MFA on admin accounts is a definite must. For partners that manage multiple clients, an expansion of delegated admin access to clients will be needed. Currently, my employees can connect to our partner center using connect-msolservice (MSONLINE) and then using the clients tenant ID manage user account and licensing information. Then using Connect-ExchangeOnline with delegated access allows for the management of client email. Currently…

  11. Allow security teams the ability to track down who created a particular service principal and who deleted a service principal.

We've seen instances where service principals are created in Azure Active directory but the identity shows it's been created by "Managed Service Entity". Trying to determine which actual user created this is only possible by raising a support request to Microsoft. Please can we have this made self service so customers can do this ourselves?

  13. try catch functionality in Azure Data Factory

Add a TRY CATCH functionality inside Azure Data Factory. Option to activate TRY CATCH for the Pipeline, make it work for nested pipelines also when Iteration tasks are used.

When activated we need a screen (error trapping task?) to select all or which tasks we want to catch and setup the error handling returned from their output.

Please add Oracle 7.8 to Azure to Azure replication in the future.
If it is already in the roadmap please let us know the ETA.

  15. Serial Console send key(s) on the next reboot

Catching a VM and interrupting the boot sequence has proven to be rather difficult. Failed 3 of 3 attempts at following the following. (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/linux/serial-console-grub-single-user-mode)

Would it be possible to set a flag on next reboot to send some user specified keys to the VM as it is rebooted?

  16. Please create Endpoint Service Tags for Azure Services that do not have one (all OMS services)

Firewalls do not deal very effectively with wild cards on FQDN. Also, it is always better to route Azure Services traffic originated on an Azure Subscription directly thru Azure fabric and not dealing with constantly changing IP addresses or long IP ranges to whitelist on teh way out to Internet

  17. Azure Alerts - Enable s/mime encryption

Some of the information included in azure alerts may contain sensitive data from log analytics queries. Also some companies security policy requires that all emails are encrypted.
This is a necessary improvement that reinforces Azure security.

  18. Implement Header (Not)Exists in Application Gateway WAF Policy Custom Rules

Checking for the existence of a header is not implemented for WAF Policy Custom Rules even though it exists for rewrite rules (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/application-gateway/rewrite-http-headers#check-for-the-presence-of-a-header)
It would make sense to implement the capacity to block incoming requests based on whether a specific header exists (be it standard or custom).

Without that feature, it currently means that:
    * If a request comes in without this specific header it will go right through unchecked
    * If a request comes in with this specific header but with a wrong value, it can be blocked

  19. Install Microsoft.WindowsDesktop.App runtime to App Service

.NET Core 3.1 WindowsDesktop runtime contains some assemblies that is also useful in WebApp, such as System.Xaml. If the runtime is not installed, these assemblies must be included in self-contained deployment. And the SCD is troublesome and has many runtime restrictions.

Additionally, a NETCoreApp depends on WindowsDesktop SDK project generates a .runtimeconfig.json that references WindowsDesktop. Azure App Service can't execute such WebJob.

  20. linkable support requests

Currently Support Requests (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-portal/supportability/how-to-create-azure-support-request) can not be directly linked to, which makes tracking them in my own internal system and sharing them with my coworkers an difficult and time wasting hassle of copying and pasting just the identifier which they then have to search for themselves in the portal. Communication and information transfer would be much faster with simply a hyperlink pointing to the generated support ticket resource. Nearly every other resource has links which work like this.
