(General Feedback)

Do you have an idea or suggestion based on your experience with Azure? We would love to hear it! Please take a few minutes to submit your idea in the one of the forums available on the right or vote up an idea submitted by another Azure customer. All of the feedback you share in these forums will be monitored and reviewed by the Microsoft engineering teams responsible for building Azure.

This forum (General Feedback) is used for any broad feedback related to Azure. If you have feedback on a specific service such as Azure Virtual Machines, Web Apps, or SQL Database, please submit your feedback in one of the forums available on the right.

Remember that this site is only for feature suggestions and ideas!

If you have technical questions or need help with Azure, please try StackOverflow or visit our MSDN forums

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

  2. Offer B-Series ala carte CPU credits priced based on current demand "spot market"

I have B-Series virtual machines that most of the time have plenty of CPU credits in reserve, but about twice a month I need 12-24 hours of use at nearly 100% CPU. It would be nice to have the option purchasing additional CPU credits as opposed to reprovisioning at some higher level of service for that short period of time.

  3. Allow horizontal scrolling on a pageable grid

The way that Scrolling is currently implemented, it forces both a vertical and horizontal scrolling.
We would like to use paging for getting more rows, and horizontal scrolling to enable the user to add many columns, and still see them clearly.

  4. make the storage explorer for OSX signed by a valid developer

    See thread here: https://twitter.com/AzureSupport/status/1054578980123111424

Basically: discover I am coming from OSX, make me download a .dmg, sign it properly so I don't need to relax my security settings.

  5. Azure AppGW WAF supress return code

Azure Application Gateway Web Application Firewall could allow to supress return code ("cloaking") in its rules set.

Barracuda WAF has this feature and, currently, there is no way to replace this solution with Azure WAF.

    Reference: https://campus.barracuda.com/product/webapplicationfirewall/doc/4259864/configuring-cloaking/

  6. New-AzureRMSubscription fails with "There must be an existing subscription with the offer up to a max number of subscriptions

We have over 65 subscriptions and New-AzureRmSubscription fails with "There must be an existing subscription with the offer up to a max number of subscriptions. Further details: Account must have between 1 and 49 existing subscriptions. 65 subscriptions were found. Please increase this limit".

  7. Allow tagging of traffic manager endpoints

Currently, TM endpoint cannot be tagged. Allowing tagging helps with reporting.

  8. RBAC on Log analytics

We would like to have RBAC on Log analytics. when we click on view solutions, Log analytics dashboards with all solutions open up. Data populated for all solutions is entire data and doesnt have filter based on the RBAC permissions. For example, if user has access to resource group , he/she should be able to see only data present for his resource group

  9. zipping and unzipping folders/container as a buil-in api for the blob storage

It would be nice to be able to zip multiple folders or a container on another container.
The purpose being that if you have a lot of small files, it would be super slow to download them on another server over the network one by one.

  11. Alerts - no subnet rules

New generation of alerts don't support as many rules as classic alerts.
I need to make a alert with a rule which is "Create or Update Virtual Network Subnet" but there is no such rule.
On the other hand, classic alerts has this rule option.

Suggestion: Update azure portal to have enough alert rules including Subnet.

  12. Bug: Slot resource creation behavior different based on "kind" of web site

Creating a slot resource outside of a Microsoft.Web/sites' resources property (creating the slot in a separate deployment or template) is allowed when the "kind" of Microsoft.Web/site that the slot belongs to is "webapp." When creating a slot in a separate deployment for a Microsoft.Web/site of the kind "functionapp" it throws an InternalError with no helpful debugging information.

If this is intentional it is not documented.

  13. Include the ability to select the authentication method per relying party trust, within ADFS,

Include the ability to select the authentication method for a single (or multiple) relying party trust, within ADFS, for both SP-Initiated and IDP-Initiated logons

  15. Same name servers pool for all DNS public Zones per subscription

We would like to migrate from other DNS provider to Azure DNS. There will be almost 600 zones. It its absolutely unmanageable to take Azure DNS name servers zone by zone and update each domain register. Please, considerate the possibility to have the same name servers pool for all zones for the same subscription or even better, give the possibility to stablish different name server pools and assign to zones.
    Thanks in advanced.

  17. Sign a JWT with RSA SHA256 in APIM Policy Expression

Provide access to RSACryptoServiceProvider or System.IdentityModel.Tokens.Jwt so that its possible to construct and sign a JWT from a policy expression within Azure API Management.

Right now there's no libraries to help with signing JWTs within a policy in APIM. In scenarios where APIM needs to invoke backend APIs which dictate a security protocol which requires signed JWTs (ex. https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7523 on Salesforce) you need a backend API between APIM and your platform just to do the token exchange.

  18. Describe what the various suggestion statuses mean

Although many of the Microsoft-assigned status for suggestions are pretty clear, some of them ("unplanned") are not. A tooltip or similar describing Microsoft's definition of each status would be handy.

  19. Improve VM Agent compatibility with LogMeIn Hamachi

When LogMeIn Hamachi is installed on a Windows Azure Virtual Machine, occasionally the Windows Azure Agent tries to connect through the Hamachi virtual network adapter instead of the VM's Hyper-V network adapter. This results in the agent reporting "Not Available" and backups fail. I have found that about once a month I need to uninstall Hamachi, reboot the server, check that the agent can connect again, and then re-install Hamachi. It would be great to update the Azure Agent to handle this better. Errors in the agent log include "Failed to obtain fabric URI. ControlSystem not initialized" and "Did not…

  20. Change Load Balancer hash algorithm for 2- and 3-tuple hashes

It appears that Load Balancer uses the same algorithm to calculate hashes for 2-, 3- and 5-tuple hashes. This way for 2- and 3-tuple hashes there is simply less input variables and source IP addresses from the same subnet receive the same hash value. With the same hash these clients get connected to the same node in the Load Balancer making very unbalanced load (in my case typical load distribution across 2-node LB is 90/10).

I suggest to change hash algorithm for 2- and 3-tuple hashes so it produces different hash values.
