  3. Create a message inspect on portal

We need to check received message sent by devices and now I need to use DeviceExplorer. Would be useful this tool on portal.

  4. Ability to modify module twin for a CSX function running on edge.

If the module is written in C# you a have callback handler for the properties changed applied to the hub client object. But in CSX you just have a Run method that is called whenever a message is received - but this does not seem to be triggered on a properties change so I assume is only listening to hub messages from downstream/upstream devices according to the routing.

Need a module twin update ability in order to tweak edge runtime function modules on the fly.

  5. Java device client - enable blob storage operations with X509 certificate

I noticed that when I use X509 certificate in java IoT Device Client, I am not able to upload file to blob storage. It would be nice to have possibility to do this and not have to create separated connection just for blob storage.

  6. Deploy to pre-established resource group

Our enterprise Azure admin assigns resource group per user (i.e. Jon-Doe_Lab-rg) for security reasons. I am only allowed to deploy resources to this group. The RM solution wants to create it own resource group. I used a different subscription for creation and then tried to move all the resources to my enterprise group but ran into many errors. It would be nice to have a target "Resource Group" option on the deployment page.

  7. IoT devices health / heart beat dashboard

    Hello,
Since we are working with all types of devices/edge devices it becomes an obvious and required to maintain their health dashboard / heart beat function, which provides details like last communication time, status as offline or online. It can be configurable by admins in IoT hub or at device level also.
This is can be exposed via sdk or api to users so they can be used to present for Administrator user who manages the devices through their solutions.

  9. python SDK bulk operations

There is no option for this moment to register devices via python SDK in a bulk way. In particular there is no crypt generator class that available in c#:

  10. Do not deprecate Operations Monitoring

At present we have operations monitoring in context of what it is for (i.e. IoT Hub) in the portal, but you want to deprecate that for a generic log dump where we have to figure out queries, etc to get any sort of information out of it?!

  11. There are cases where IoT Hub can not move resource group

If I move the IoT Hub of the Free plan to another resource group in the same subscription, it falls under the same subscription upper limit and it can not move.

In order to avoid it, you need to move once to another subscription that does not hold another IoT Hub.

  12. Why do the docs have to be so complicated? Instead of wrapping openssl in a cryptic powershell, just provide the openssl commands directly.

There are dozens of ways to create x509 certificates on the web. No where is there a concise discription of how to create certificates taht will work with Azure Device Provisioning Service. Why does this have to be so complicated?

  14. Cumulative device view

Provide a cumulative device view across regular IoT Devices and IoT Edge devices. Naming conflicts are quite common and the portal does a poor job letting you know that the failure to create the device is due to a naming conflict.

  15. Separate Input/Output metrics IoT Hub and Stream Analytics

Develop email alerts for each input and output in stream analytics jobs. Also email alerts each consumer group if the telemetry drops between the device an IoT Hub.

  16. Interchange of messages between Event Hubs

    Hi Team,

I am trying to build an IoT Build Solution using Azure Service for last one month. As part of this activity, I created event hub, lets call it as EH1 to publish and subscribe through Azure Functions. Everything was working fine until I create another event hub EH2 for sending different set of events from Streaming Analytics Job. Once created, I tried to access the newly created event hub EH2 via Functions. Surprisingly, I was getting messages which were posted to EH1. I am 100% sure the configurations are correct as 2 days I had this issue and…

  17. Azure IoT Edge: Custom communication protocols

Scenario with dozens of industrial communication protocol implementations: plugging additional protocols into Azure IoT Edge must be easy and not requiring code rewrite.
Without this, Azure IoT Edge would be much more expensive and slower to be adopted by partner final customers.

  18. Proxy configuration support for runtime and modules not detailed

Customer needs to configure edge runtime and dependent modules with proxy information. This could be done via runtime configuration; but needs to be documented.
