Add native support for GSM modules such as SIM900 or SIM800
GSM Modules such as SIM800 and SIM900 are controlled using AT commands. The idea would be to add support in the SDK for establishing SSL connection and sending/receiving messages to/from IoT Hub over HTTP using AT commands under the hood.
Thanks for the feedback. We will evaluate this request.

please add support for azure sdk over SIM800 so that data can be transfered over MQTT to azure server.

Has there been any progress with this? I'm struggling with this issue, and trying to get to the bottom of why this doesnt work using direct MQTT? Please see this thread - https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/1b9e7091-e0c8-47e6-ae8a-87f24acc6fbf/unable-to-connect-using-mqtt-from-arduino-nano?forum=azureiothub

Assuming a GPRS connection (GSM is just voice/fax) then a PPP connection is required between the device and the modem. An example can be found at: https://www.acmesystems.it/ppp, obviously it would need to be adjusted for RTOS's. As such, I am not sure why this UV exists... Perhaps a documented example is more appropriate...

This support will also help migrate some of the Old devices and make them work with IoT Hub.
