  1. Speed up user lab VM reset by assigning an unassigned VM from the pool

When you reset a VM assigned to a user, it will delete the existing VM, create a new VM and then assign it to the user.

If there are unassigned VMs in the pool, please assign one of these to the user so that they can get back on immediately. There should be no need to wait for an additional VM to be added into the pool before it is assigned to a user.

  3. 'My Labs' Dashboard cards should display more information

The dashboard cards in labs only contains minimum information on the e.g.

    LAB-TITLE
    lab description
    Max virtual machine count: 52
Quota per user: 0 hours (Schedule only)

it does not even list the Lab Creator anywhere!
it really needs to be better especially when end users have multiple labs from different creators, schedules etc.

It would be nice if the cards in the dashboard listed:
The Lab creator - fetched from Graph with user image and mail address.
The name of image in use, possibly an image logo
    The actual schedule (if configured)
    custom support link

    The count of registered…

  4. It should be possible to check if the repository PAT is valid

In the repositories page, there is a list of artifacts repositories that are available to the lab. However, the list does not show if the PATs provided are valid or not (for example expired or have the wrong permissions).

If would be extremely useful to have a 'check connection' option, for example under the 3 dots, that would verify that the connection is setup correctly.

  5. Azure Bastion: DevTest Labs support

DevTest Labs users should have an option to use Azure Bastion to connect their VM when clicking "Connect" in DevTest Labs VM blade in Azure Portal.

  6. Option to auto shutdown VM when no user is active for X minutes

While the auto shutdown on a daily basis is great, if I haven't been logged in for an hour it would be nice if the machine would shut down automatically. This is especially true as I am experimenting with developing using an Azure VM

  7. Provide the ability to add classroom resources for each lab

It would be great to have the ability to add some more helpful assets to the classroom lab, like a list of e-book codes (csv) that can be redeemed by each user as he/she claims each VM. Also we should be able to upload a Lab guide, some reference links etc., for use by the students during the class.

  8. Be able to download list of users

I really like the new classroom labs. One feature I would like is to be able to not only upload a list of users but also be able to download the list of users after a class have completed.

  11. Allow the Lab Services user-friendly interface to also be used for DevTest Labs

Azure Lab Services provides a bespoke user-friendly portal to provision lab resources @ https://labs.azure.com/ . Can we have the option to present existing DevTest Labs resources to end-users using the same interface? We need the customisation that DevTest Labs allows us, but would like to reduce the scope of what the end-user sees "under the hood"

  12. Notification email on the DevTest Lab virtual machine expiration date

As a administrator along with the announcement can we have expiration emails to be sent to users from the azure portal.

This will help us in reminding the machine owners to extend the expiration date incase of project date extension

  13. Need to show VM IP Address

We use both VM name and VM IP address when using our Azure VM's. It would be great if we could both in the Dev Test Labs.

  14. Ability to run artifacts on VM deletion

I would like the ability to define artifacts and/or powershell to run when a VM is deleted from the lab. One use could be removing the VM machine from a directory.

  18. filter custom images

I have a bunch of custom images in my lab. I want to filter the list. Many (most?) other Azure blades have this functionality. Should be standard behavior...

  19. Opt-in / Opt out enforcement of shutdown

Enforce certain policies, but allow users to opt out of others. User working on demos with customers may want to opt out of a shutdown based on idle time (open idea currently), but we want to enforce a shutdown at 7pm on Fridays. They should not be able to override the weekly shutdown. This may vary based on DevTestLab.

  20. Ability to limit VM disks

DevTest Labs has the functions of creating a new disk, attaching to a disk, and detaching from a disk.
It would be nice to have the ability to limit these disks.

To create custom role without 'Microsoft.DevTestLab/labs/virtualMachines/AddDataDisk/action' and 'Microsoft.DevTestLab/labs/users/disks/Attach/action' and 'Microsoft.DevTestLab/labs/users/disks/Detach/action' assign users doesn't help because users have Owner permission to VMs after they claim.
