  1. Azure Lab VM is not able to resolve Private DNS Zone linked Peering VNET

I configure VNET peering with Lab Service.
A private DNS zone is linked to the peered VNET.

I am unable to resolve the records in the private DNS zone from the VM in Lab Service.

When I contacted support, the answer was that name resolution for private DNS zones is currently not possible.

I hope that future enhancements will allow name resolution for private DNS zones linked to peering VNETs.

  2. Use existing reserved public IP address on VM creation

We have firewall policies on our local corporate network to prevent SSH and RDP access to external IP addresses. To access VMs created in Azure we use reserved IP address and create firewall exclusions on specific ports. We don't want to be creating firewall exclusions for every new VM (paperwork!).

    1. We would like to be able to select from a list of reserved IP addresses on VM creation in DevTestLabs.
    2. An alternative is to select an existing load balancer which already has the reserved IP bound to it as the public IP. NAT rules could then be used for VM…

  3. Loadbalancer STATIC shared IP

Use of static IP for sharing a single public IP's By Lab VM's.
The current shared IP option is a good start, but constantly changing public IP's are not suitable for external whitelising and working with firewall rules.
