How can we improve Microsoft Azure SQL Data Warehouse ?

Enable Scale and Start in the same command/API call

I should not have to start Azure SQL Data Warehouse, wait for it to resume then issue a scale and wait again.

I agree. Let's say my Azure SQL DW is paused but was last running with DWU1000. If I start the DW and then immediately scale to DWU200 when it comes up, my understanding is that I will still be charged for 1 hour x 10 compute nodes for that first few minutes. My understanding is that billing for SQL DW is on the granularity of an hour. So this request would solve this problem.

Alternatively if you allow us to scale while it's paused this would solve the problem.
