Support for Entity Framework
Support for Entity Framework in Azure SQL Data Warehouse would allow for greater usability in general, but it would also allow for better support of other frameworks/protocols. Specifically, we have a need to serve our data through an OData feed, and Entity Framework's deferred execution would allow us to handle OData's Query Options in a much simpler way.
Thank you for all the feedback folks. Unfortunately this is taking longer than we’d like. We will reach back out when it is on the roadmap and can share when we have an update.
It's August 2018, any update on this?
When are we expecting to support EF on azure Sql server database house.
Just got caught out by this one as well - seems to be a fairly basic failing to not support code first schema management tooling

I also need this feature. Currently writing a lot of manual scripts which can be done by EF.

moved a large historical db over to a warehouse. it would be nice to just change the connection instead of having to jump through hoops to query the data from the new source.

Yes I have the exact same need - would like to spin up an ODATA Web API which relies on Entity Framework and want to lay this web service over SQL Data Warehouse.
Yes, it would be a great addon for the release

I agree that azure will provide this support

- C# code First (automatic table definition/creation/ and database migrations support/schema upgrade inside Azure SQL Data Warehouse)
- loading data into Azure SQL Data Warehouse directly using C# Linq insert statements with entity framework sending appropriate sql behind the scenes for automatic statistics recompute,
- updating/delete data from Azure SQL Data Warehouse directly # Linq insert statements with entity framework sending appropriate sql behind the scenes for automatic statistics recompute
- both for .net core version of entity framework as well as .net 4.5+
same here, we have lots of existing code based on EF. Moving to Azure SQL Data Warehouse without EF support is not an option for us right now.
