Database project from Visual Studio is useful to manage DDLs, schema compare between the project and database, etc. Please create a project template dedicated for DW or support DW development from Database Project.435 votes
We apologize this is taking longer than we’d like. This is currently on our road map and we’ll reach out when preview is available. Please continue voting for this feature and comment on your scenario below. Thank you for all the feedback! 6882139
Guidance and workaround:
Support for Entity Framework in Azure SQL Data Warehouse would allow for greater usability in general, but it would also allow for better support of other frameworks/protocols. Specifically, we have a need to serve our data through an OData feed, and Entity Framework's deferred execution would allow us to handle OData's Query Options in a much simpler way.103 votes

Why not implement a Sql server 'Replication' solution from sql server (on premise / Azure) to sql dataware house (on Azure)?
It would be useful if we have a processing DB in sql server and a accumulating datawarehouse in sql datawarehouse, with not too many structural changes.23 votes
Thank you for raising this, we have heard this ask a few times and will look into some of the ways that we may accomplish this. 7693854

Can you add support for replication from SQL server to Azure Data warehouse , or some sort of Log Shipping or mirroring ?
Enable some seamless replication between on premise database to Azure data warehouse , this can be using replication , log shipping , mirroring or some sync Agent deployed on premise . Using SSIS packages to sync huge databases takes a lot of work and wouldn't be as robust .5 votes
Please enable geographically distributed Data Warehouse.
Different part of the data should be located in different clouds because of legal issues.
EXAMPLE: we have sales data from US in one cloud, and from Europe in another. With one query, we would be able to consume total sales from Europe and US.5 votes
Due to the limitations currently in polybase its not an option for a lot of data sources. It would be great to be able to use bulk insert off blob storage like what is enabled in Azure SQL database as an option at least in the meantime.4 votes
We want to be flexible and if some teams needs to access sqlwarehouse thru Azure Active Directory instead of local DB Users it will be great and easy to provide access to data1 vote
