Since MERGE statement is not supported, we are using CTAS for preparing the new table and using the rename operation.
Currently we do not have the TRANSACTION support for the RENAME operations.
When we have two rename operations we may run into inconsistent state if second statement fails.
RENAME OBJECT FinalTable TO FinalTableOld;
RENAME OBJECT FinalTableStage TO FinalTable;
To overcome this, we need some workaround or support for transactions.34 votes
Thanks for your suggestion. We are looking into this scenario for a future release. 10697293
The open source tsqlt framework requires CLR which is not available in Azure SQL DW. A framework to to write unit tests would increase trust in the queries.20 votes
Thank you for your feedback folks. We are actively looking into this scenario specifically with SSDT Database Project support with SQL Data Warehouse. Please continue voting and monitoring this item for updates. Thank you for your patience.
Display the total size of the data warehouse including snapshots/restore points and geo-backups. This will help customer project storage costs of the data warehouse.18 votes
We apologize this is taking longer than we’d like where there are issues with this metric in the portal. This is currently on our road map and we’ll reach out as soon as the view is supported.
Once a proc is executed and if we try to stop it, its not working. Sometimes it takes 6-8 hours to get it cancelled

Sorry to hear that this was an issue. Are you still experiencing this?
If a high availability option would be introduced for SQL DW, it would benefit customers like us, who are using the service to run business critical applications.
Currently there are too many potential time windows for maintenance breaks and it would be great if there would be no need to worry about those interfering with production. Perhaps a similar option could be introduced, as for SQL DB?5 votes
