Logic Apps

Logic Apps allow developers to design workflows that articulate intent via a trigger and series of steps, each invoking an App Service API app whilst securely taking care of authentication and best practices like durable execution.
If you have any feedback or ideas on Azure Logic Apps we’d love to hear it.

  1. Supporting AI for Logic Apps?

    We use Application Insights(AI) for telemetry logging and reporting purposes. Is there a plan for supporting AI for Logic Apps?

  4. Multiple start triggers

    Would be great to set multiple start triggers in Logic App.
    For Example: You have different Microsoft Forms, for internal and external, but they all should start the same Logic App.

    At the moment you can use the "Code View" to create multiple start triggers for an Logic app, but with changing the code the "Design View" is not available anymore.

  6. Suspend and Resume of the Workflow run.

    Same as the operation Cancel an work flow run(which is avialble today with Rest API or on Portal ), it would be really great and useful if we can suspend and Unsuspend/Resume a work flow run.

  7. Export to Visio

    I want the ability to export my entire Logic App workflow to Visio with all the correct icons. This will be super useful for our documentation efforts and will eliminate the manual work.

  8. Allow workflow parameters to be managed in the portal

    Logic Apps deployed via ARM Template can be passed variables using the parameters element of the workflow properties.

    Other than $connections, these parameters are not visible in the code view of the logic app, nor is there any other way to edit them except by redeploying.

    Please show them and allow them to be edited in the portal.

    Simple solution is to allow them to round trip through the code view. Better would be a new workflow panel that provides for editing of declared parameters for a logic app.

    {
    "type": "Microsoft.Logic/workflows",
    "name": "[variables('name')]",
    "apiVersion": "2016-06-01",
    "location": "australiaeast",
    "properties": { …

  9. Move Blobs

    The way we can move files to a Backup folder after successful processing we should have an action called "Move Blob" to move a Blob to another Container and another action called "Move Blobs" to move all blobs in a Container to another Container.

  10. Update Enterprise Integration Tools to Visual Studio 2017

    There is no reason that the Logic Apps tools need to be tied to VS 2015 like BizTalk tools. If we are on the cloud and using Logic Apps, we are building our Logic App in VS 2017 and need the integration tools to keep up. These should be in lock step and compatible with the core logic apps development tools for VS.

  12. Call C# methods or Azure functions inside an XSLT map

    It would be great to have the possibility to call some .NET code inside of our maps (transform XML with an xslt map for example) in order to determine whether or not these nodes need to be created or to add some logic in it.

  13. Allow dynamic API connections

    Would be nice that you can create a generic Logic App and you can decide at runtime what API connection is must use.

    As an example: you create one Logic App that sends a message to the file system. Via configuration, you determine at runtime what File System API connection it should use.

    This is currently possible with some code-view modifications, but the designer does not support it. This is not a request to dynamically determine the protocol.

  14. Lock VS created Logic App

    Now we can create a Logic App in Visual Studio, we need to lock down the deployed logic app so that it can only be changed from VS and not in the azure portal.

    Example... I create a logic app in VS. I deploy via our ALM processes. Later, someone edits the logic app in the Azure Portal. Now source control is out of sync with the logic app = confusion.

  16. On-premises FTP server connector

    The logic app FTP connector requires FTP server accessible from the internet. To support FTP servers that are not accessible from internet provide an option to connect to an on-prem FTP server via On-Premises Data Gateway.

  17. Support gzip archive extraction

    Currently, some connectors support zip extraction (e.g. azure storage connector), but not gzip (or bzip2, tar.gz, 7z etc.). Please add support for gzip.

  18. Assign JSON Object variable properties with setProperty() or similar directly in a single Action

    Directly assign a single property value to a JSON Object variable without a Liquid Transform (this requiring an Integration Account) or doing a Compose and taking output into Set Variable.

  19. Allow control over which TLS ciphers are enabled in App Service Plans.

    We keep hearing from security about which TLS ciphers need to be disabled in different services but App Services Plans dont offer us that level of control. We would love to be able to influence that via ARM, Powershell (CLI), azure portal as that list of 'what we shouldnt use' is always changing.

  20. See/use API Connections in other resource groups in the Logic App Designer

    API Connections are filtered on the resource group so the available API Connections are restricted to the ones in the same resource group as the Logic App.

    Jeff Hollan stated that this restriction will be lifted in a comment on an answer to the following stackoverflow question https://stackoverflow.com/questions/41079031/how-use-existing-connection-in-logic-apps-designer.

    This will allow for having shared API Connections across resource groups which can reduce the number of API Connections.

    See https://stackoverflow.com/questions/41079031/how-use-existing-connection-in-logic-apps-designer and https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/1417e1bb-c96a-4e51-b980-b5a4ade7a3a9/when-will-the-restriction-that-azure-api-connections-are-filtered-on-the-resource-group-in-the-azure?forum=azurelogicapps for more info.
