Logic Apps

Logic Apps allow developers to design workflows that articulate intent via a trigger and series of steps, each invoking an App Service API app whilst securely taking care of authentication and best practices like durable execution.
If you have any feedback or ideas on Azure Logic Apps we’d love to hear it.

  2. Allow to export Logic App with parameters to be set with ARM Template parameters to ease CI/CD

    Visual Studio Tools for Logic Apps allows you to download the ARM Template for a Logic App. This is handy. However, it would be even better to allow you to optionally add ARM Template parameters for every Logic App parameter so that Logic App parameters are set using ARM Template parameters.

    This could help a lot to expedite creating ARM Templates for Logic Apps.

  3. Provide management overview of the runtime endpoints

    Now it is extremely difficult to see the various "triggers" and to stop/start them. With BizTalk, we have receive locations that we can all see in one view and we can stop/start them. (the same thing for send ports). Now all of that is encapsulated in the logic app and it would really be a good thing to provide more "management views". As an example, we have customers with more than 1000 receive endpoints. I want to get them in an easy to handle and search overview.

  5. Improve monitoring of outputs

    For monitoring, outputs are preferred, compared to tracked properties, as they reside on the workflow run level itself. However, they are only tracked in case a Logic App succeeds. This feature request is to improve the monitoring experience of outputs. Two steps are proposed:

    >> Ensure that outputs are also monitored in case a workflow runs does not complete successfully.
    >> Provide OMS integration for outputs and foresee configuration option to only monitor runs and no actions (will save a lot of unneeded records in OMS).

  6. Improve resubmit from an operational perspective

    The resubmit feature is very powerful from a runtime perspective, but it can be improved from an operational point of view. It would be nice to have visibility on the resubmit, so that you know as an operator that specific failed workflows can be ignored, because they were resubmitted already. This can be achieved by adding an additional workflow status: Resubmitted. Another alternative solution is allowing an operator to query for failed Logic App run that were not resubmitted yet.

  7. Supporting AI for Logic Apps?

    We use Application Insights(AI) for telemetry logging and reporting purposes. Is there a plan for supporting AI for Logic Apps?

  8. Lock VS created Logic App

    Now we can create a Logic App in Visual Studio, we need to lock down the deployed logic app so that it can only be changed from VS and not in the azure portal.

    Example... I create a logic app in VS. I deploy via our ALM processes. Later, someone edits the logic app in the Azure Portal. Now source control is out of sync with the logic app = confusion.

  9. Allow workflow parameters to be managed in the portal

    Logic Apps deployed via ARM Template can be passed variables using the parameters element of the workflow properties.

    Other than $connections, these parameters are not visible in the code view of the logic app, nor is there any other way to edit them except by redeploying.

    Please show them and allow them to be edited in the portal.

    Simple solution is to allow them to round trip through the code view. Better would be a new workflow panel that provides for editing of declared parameters for a logic app.

    {
    "type": "Microsoft.Logic/workflows",
    "name": "[variables('name')]",
    "apiVersion": "2016-06-01",
    "location": "australiaeast",
    "properties": { …

  10. Logic App Runs - Multi select

    The Resubmit and Cancel Run buttons on Logic app runs are great options. It will be really useful to have the ability to select multiple logic app runs to either resubmit or cancel, instead of doing it one by one.

  11. Deploy liquid map with New-AzureRmIntegrationAccountMap

    New-AzureRmIntegrationAccountMap powershell script has a MapType parameter that supports only "Xslt". The portal supports both "Xslt" and "liquid", and the powershell script should support both.

  12. Integration Map (Service Map for Integration)

    A "Service Map"-like overview of your integration landscape and components with zoom capabilities and deep links to the components for direct monitoring and maintenance. Usable by both integration pros and citizen integrators.

  13. Foresee every Logic App with a Service Window

    A service window that easily allows you to schedule the active time of your Logic App, so it gets automatically enabled/disabled. Provide same user experience as in Azure Scheduler or the CRON notation used in WebJobs, both are very flexible.

  14. Monitoring - Group instances with same Correlation ID

    The monitoring experience for retried instances could be improved. In the Azure portal, they just show up as individual instances. There's no easy way to find out that they are all related to each other. Would be a great feature if all runs with the same Correlation ID are grouped together in the default.

  15. Reusable JSON schemas in logic apps

    Reusable JSON schemas in logic apps. Currently there is no way to reference a schema and re-use the same schema for validation and composing new json data into Logic Apps.

    For instance, i have an address json schema, i have to hardcode this schema into every logic app that will utilize this very generic schema. Supportability-wise it will be very difficult to handle this.

  16. Possibility to stop all actions running

    Possibility in the Azure portal to stop all running instances. In some cases where we call a Logic App from a parallel actions or foreachs , very easy we end up of have hundred instance running. Would be great to have a possibility to stop all running instances of a Logic App. Specially when we are doing tests.

  17. Backup/restore feature Integration Account

    Backup/restore Integration Account

    There should be a mechanism to backup/restore the Integration Account either in Azure Portal or using PowerShell cmdlets

  18. Restore logic app scheduling flexibility

    Give us back the scheduling options demonstrated in https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/logic-apps/tutorial-build-schedule-recurring-logic-app-workflow. It looks like, per the discussion in the comments of this article, that this functionality was reduced. It would be great to have the flexibility to schedule more specifically than just once per hour, etc.

  19. Reset trigger state when a logic app is enabled

    I just found out that logic apps trigger state is maintained when the logic app is disabled. This is a great feature, but usually one of the reasons to disable the logic app is to avoid events that are triggered during that period.

    Today, the workaround to circumvent this is to manually make changes in the trigger and save the logic app again. This will reset the state.

    What I suggest is that when you enable the logic app, the environment ask if you want to reset the state. This would put the control in the hands of the operational…

  20. Logic App REST API to support filters like correleationID instead of just logic app status.

    Logic App REST API is a great for programmatically obtaining workflow details, Today, LA runs can be queried, but can be filtered only with status, What if the customer wanted to query by correlation ID, To do that, the person should get all runs then find out the required run using the correlation ID. it would be great if we could filter using the correlation ID/tracking ID.
