Logic Apps

Logic Apps allow developers to design workflows that articulate intent via a trigger and series of steps, each invoking an App Service API app whilst securely taking care of authentication and best practices like durable execution.
If you have any feedback or ideas on Azure Logic Apps we’d love to hear it.

  1. Lock VS created Logic App

Now we can create a Logic App in Visual Studio, we need to lock down the deployed logic app so that it can only be changed from VS and not in the azure portal.

Example... I create a logic app in VS. I deploy via our ALM processes. Later, someone edits the logic app in the Azure Portal. Now source control is out of sync with the logic app = confusion.

  2. Healthcare Integration

Core to anything I think is needed is more vertical healthcare integration, thinking of custom SAML claims etc
    HL7, HIPAA EDI support

Thanks for the feedback – we realize these are important capabilities.

  3. Add "append to file" functionality to all file related connectors like oneDrive.

Would allow, for instance, to create csv files incrementally within a for each loop

  4. Logic App Runs - Multi select

The Resubmit and Cancel Run buttons on Logic app runs are great options. It will be really useful to have the ability to select multiple logic app runs to either resubmit or cancel, instead of doing it one by one.

For load balancing or for failover of Logic Apps with request endpoints we recommend using API Management and making the Logic App an API operation. API Management has first class integration with Logic Apps to make it really easy to add a Logic App as a new API operation and API-M has built-in failover capabilities along with custom policies.

  6. Add Update or Insert functionality to SQL connector

Given that the SQL connector is aware of the primary key of the target table, add a new function to support update or insert (upsert) fucntionality. This will avoid having to add validation logic in the logic app to check if a record exists before inserting or updating it.

  9. Support for capturing inbound SMTP like Amazon SES

    Dear Azure Team,

Currently Logic Apps supports the ability to send emails, but not the ability to receive them and forward them on to other Azure service layers for analysis and further processing. This is a feature that is available in Amazon Simple Email Service for which I can find no functional equivalent in Azure.

    http://docs.aws.amazon.com/ses/latest/DeveloperGuide/receiving-email-concepts.html

We would like to be able to receive emails, perform some processing on the headers, save meta data about the email to Azure SQL, compress the MIME file and store it in Azure Blob. All in the horizontally scalable fashion that we've come to…

  10. FTP Connector : GetFiles recursively

I would like an option for GetFiles to provide recursive results (perhaps an option for N folder depth?).

I'm aware that this can cause a performance lag, but I imagine some parallelization would be possible to minimize the lag as much as possible.

  11. Provide Implicit FTPS Capabilities with the FTP Connector

The FTP Connector only supports Explicit FTPS.

Please develop capabilities to support Implicit FTPS.

  14. Foresee every Logic App with a Service Window

A service window that easily allows you to schedule the active time of your Logic App, so it gets automatically enabled/disabled. Provide same user experience as in Azure Scheduler or the CRON notation used in WebJobs, both are very flexible.

  16. SharePoint Online Create Item doesn't attach attachments

I'm trying to set a SIte Mailbox from which Logic App will fetch email and create List item with an attachment. SharePoint Online Create Item doesn't have a property for attaching items.

  17. Disable a Logic App for being updated in the Portal when linked to Source COntrol

Are there any plans to provide a possibility to disable to edit a Logic App through the Portal? A bit like Azure Functions, when you link it to source control, you only can edit via Visual Studio.
Offcourse only if VS tooling allows all possible functionality of the Portal Editor.

  18. telegram

It would be perfect to integrate telegram bot APIs, thus we could, to say: start a bot replying to certain given links or storaging files where we say to him.

  19. Alternate to POP3 for Inbound Email Parse, Like SendGrid

    https://sendgrid.com/docs/API_Reference/Webhooks/parse.html

The core of the request here is to be able to point an MX record at LogicApp, and have it receive and process inbound emails that way, rather than checking a mailbox. This would not be simple to implement, but it would be a self-contained solution. It's probably just as difficult as the HTTP Listener connector. Maybe harder.

Sendgrid's Inbound Parse feature is essentially equivalent to a very primitive logic app for receiving email and generating a webhook/API call from it. Their solution lacks the full functionality and capability of LogicApps, otherwise I would use that for my current…
