Logic Apps

Logic Apps allow developers to design workflows that articulate intent via a trigger and series of steps, each invoking an App Service API app whilst securely taking care of authentication and best practices like durable execution.
If you have any feedback or ideas on Azure Logic Apps we’d love to hear it.

  1. How to post data to an AAD implemented API Service from Logic App

    We have an API Service with AAD Authentication. We are trying to post data to post API using Logic App. However we are getting unauthorized error.

    Can anyone please help us ?

    Thanks & Regards,

  2. Is there any way to trigger logic app without trigger via Workflow Management API?

    I have used the below Workflow Management API(API-Version 2015-02-01-preview) to trigger the logic app

    https://management.azure.com/subscriptions/{subscriptionId}/resourceGroups/{ResourceGroupName}/providers/Microsoft.Logic/workflows/{WorkflowName}/run?api-version=2015-02-01-preview

    But after GA of logic app above API is deprecated so now new API is
    https://{endpoint}/subscriptions/{subscriptionId}/resourceGroups/{resourceGroupName}/providers/Microsoft.Logic/workflows/{workflowName}/triggers/{triggerName}/run?api-version=2016-06-01

    But above API requires the trigger name but my logic apps doesn't contain any trigger.

    So is there any ways i can trigger logic app without trigger via Workflow Management API?

  6. Add pay as you go connector APIs rather than rate limiting

    It would be very useful to have the option to exceed the current limits set for some of the connectors, such as sending messages to a queue one by one can very quickly hit the limit.

    Depending on the connector rate limiting can either protect the backend from abuse or the shared application resource to the service from being taken by a single user. Rate limits are re-evaluated based on usage and scale needs. If there’s a particular connector that is not meeting your throughput requirements let us know. We also recommend using the Circuit Breaker enterprise integration pattern for handling endpoint rate limits.

  7. Connectors not found neither in resource group nor in marketplace

    I was working with Drobbox, Sendgrid, Onedrive and FTP connectors and suddenly find it not available though earlier created logic apps still got it. Is there a way, I can get back connectors and templates and work the way I was comfortable. The new one is good but just cant hop to new one find day. Thanks for great platform.

    Logic Apps is not part of the App Service infrastructure and cannot be deployed to an ASE. To connect across a VNET the recommended pattern is to either use the on-premises data gateway for on-prem connectors or use API Management which can span VNETs/Express Route.

  9. Sort the list of actions in the Azure portal's Logic App run blade...

    based on the dependsOn values (not alphabetically as it is today). For actions with multiple dependent child actions, sort those alphabetically or some other way, but continue to group dependent child actions together.

  10. Workflow Foundation

    Logic Apps should support Workflow Foundation. Have a designer where you create workflows, drag api connectors and components

  11. Export and Import Rules Service/Engine policies and vocabularies as XML or JSON

    Allow for publishing and remote development/management of Biztalk Rules App Service Policies and Vocabularies via Visual Studio or other source repositories.

  12. Expose Connectors Swagger definition so an External application could consume and execute the connector

    Have the ability to connect to Azure server and consume a connector.

    Essentially expose the swagger of the connector and allow for the connector to be called from an external system.

    So the external system would call some URL with the right information based on the Swagger definition.

  13. Change the name from Azure Logic Apps to Azure Integration Apps

    I think this simple name change will add clarity to this service. All apps have "logic" in them of some sort. By changing the name to "integration", anyone looking at the service by name can place the capabilities with adapters, transformation and transport. Consider the following for context - it's integration - http://www.enterpriseintegrationpatterns.com/eaipatterns.html

  14. How to prevent trigger recurrance overlapping with action processing?

    Polling triggers bear the risk of action processing overlapping with the next recurrence if processing takes longer than the recurrence interval. Thus instead we often use (a) loops with a delay or (b) fire-once timers (at the end of processing).

    a)
    Do
    <some action>
    await Taks.Delay(3000, cancellationToken)
    Loop

    b)
    Start()
    _pollTimer.Change(0, Timeout.InfiniteTimeSpan)

    _pollTimer_Elapsed()
    <some action>
    _pollTimer.Change(_pollInterval, Timeout.InfiniteTimeSpan)

    How can we tackle this problem with Logic Apps?

  15. BizTalk Server Conume API App Swagger Metadata

    We will see all of these great new API apps being created that support SaaS Connectivity. We do know there will be some lag before we have symmetry between Cloud and on-prem offering. We also have BizTalk migration stories to deal with.

    In the interim, why not allow BizTalk Server to consume API App Swagger meta data so that we can also plug into this connector eco-system in the mean time? Also allows existing customers to leverage existing investments during this time of transition.

    From customer perspective it allows them to pay a little to get incremental value while realizing…
