  1. Provide ability to add documentation to resource groups, keeping important documentation alongside resources. Support md format?

Provide ability to add documentation to resource groups, keeping important documentation alongside resources. Support md format? Docx? I'd even take txt.

This would allow teams to include instructions, user guides, release changes, etc., that would be important for an organization to provide a unified locations for all project resources, including documentation.

  2. Can Application Security Groups moved across the subscription to CSP subscription ?

I need to check if application security groups are movable to CSP offering subscription in azure. .

  3. Recycle Bin

Over time it's likely that we'll end up with 'unknown' resources in our Azure environments e.g. a developer is testing out some new Azure resources and forgets to remove the resources.

If we delete these Azure resources then we it might cause issues to other teams within our organization, however if we keep them they will continue to consume $$$. It's a catch 22 situation.

It would be great if we had 'recycle bin' capabilities to allow us to 'restore' a recently deleted resource from Azure. Ideally, items would be sent to the recycle bin upon deletion and then automatically…

  4. Azure Deployment Manager integration with Azure DevOps

Would like the ability to utilize Azure Deployment Manager from within Azure DevOps. Along with this we should be able to use the Azure DevOps SPN connections to deploy and use Azure GIT repos as template sources. Would like the option to specify a different repository for parameter files and/or runtime parameters (basically have a a template files repo and a parameters file repo that can be referenced for each resource deployment)

  5. My Azure Portal is a MESS!

My portal still shows every resource/group/service I've every played with. Deleting and disabling don't clear the clutter. I find it hard to focus with so much old junk in the way! Please make it disappear!

  6. Allow comments/remarks within JSON Templates everywhere

At the moment you only can add comments at the resource section, it would be great if you could add comments/remarks everywhere.

  7. Specify only subscriptionId for linked ARM subscription deployment template

In an ARM template, currently if you specify the subscriptionId property for a deployment resource (linked template) you must also specify the resourceId property. This is completely nonsensical if the linked template is a subscription deployment, as there is no need to specify a resource group.

  8. Make delete and delete resource buttons easier to distinguish in ARM

I am opening this request on behalf of customer.

The similarity of the icons, location, and words on those two buttons is dangerous. it's the difference between removing a single resource of interest and potentially deleting thousands of irrecoverable resources. It should be far harder to accidentally delete the entire resource group.

  9. Validation for move should allow validatition by resource group

Moving resources between subscriptions is set up to point us toward moving entire resource groups. But the REST API to validate does not support passing a resource group. It should.

  10. Remove hard coded tenantId and objectId in exported ARM template from Resource Group

How do you deal with ARM templates when you have hard coded tenantId and objectId in them?

Let's say I have web apps, sql databases, key vault, storage, services bus, ... with managed identities, theses ids are therefore used.

Could the export of the templates remove the references to these ids?
As far as I investigated, it seems that the operation must be performed manually.

    Many thanks.

  11. create an all use ARM template to download resources from a resource group in .json formto be used in another location

The customer would be able to download all available resources in .JSON format and be able to upload in another location, all policies, rules, and metrics should be transferable to other regions as well as parent region.

  13. Highlight changes when modifying REST API

When changing REST API's the Microsoft Docs article needs to more clearly highlight the specific changes that were make.

    As an example:
The Enterprise Portal to download the monthly Detailed report (https://consumption.azure.com/v3/enrollments/$enrollmentnumber/usagedetails) went from giving all data with v2 to only giving 1000 rows with v3, and having to call a 'nextlink' to get the additional 1000 rows. A fundamental change to how the API works.

  14. Use dependency ordering when deleting multiple resources

When deleting multiple resources, ensure that deletions are done in the proper dependency ordering such that one doesn't get errors during the deletion process.

Further recommendation would be to track user-created objects and allow them to be deleted directly. If I create a single higher level object (e.g. CloudFoundry instance), it will create dozens of underlying Azure objects. I don't have an option to delete the original object, instead I need to delete the base objects in the proper dependency order. Furthermore, I may unintentionally delete an unconnected object (e.g. a diagnostic storage account) used by unrelated objects.

  15. Case sensitive parameters

I am getting the error "The deployment parameters are using case sensitive names."

Parameter names being changed to all lower case has not rectified the problem.

  16. We need a programmatic way (API/PowerShell) to add / remove co-admins.

We need a programmatic way (API/PowerShell) to add / remove co-admins. We faced issues while deleting co-admins for 250 subscriptions.

  17. Track who submitted a deployment, and allow viewing of this on the Resource Group

Being able to see who submitted a deployment would be HIGHLY useful. Both for tracking from a security point of view, but also from a costing point of view. If someone isn't putting in required costing tags, we need to be able to go back and ask them, but if we don't know who it was...

I remember there being a way to see who submitted a deployment in a Resource Group, under deployments. However this doesn't appear to be there any longer, or it never was and I am imagining it.

  18. Add support for displaying Scheduled Query Rule-based alerts in resources.azure.com

As a frequent deployer of resources in Azure, I'd like to see support for showing scheduled query rules in resources.azure.com so that I can ease the authoring of new rules based on existing ones.

  19. copyindex

[functions] Allow copy in user-defined function

This would really help reduce the redundant lines of code. Use case, for a given VM, would like to have multiple drives (i.e. each drive would consists of set of data disk, type and size)

    Example

    Dive D : 127GiB, premium, 5

    Drive E : 255GiB, Standard, 10

Also, this would enables nested loop indirectly, which would be a huge win
