Rename Resource Groups
Need the ability to rename resource groups either via PowerShell or the new portal.
The Azure Resource Manager team is actively investigating the scenarios around renaming resource groups. To help us better understand the use-cases and to determine which implementations may be viable to address the problem, we would appreciate if you could fill out this 3-minute survey:
Most wanted feature for the Azure Resource Manager yet year and a half later and still not implemented.... good work microsoft -.-
+1 This would be an extremely useful feature.

Being able to update resource groups, along with subscriptions and any object really makes scaling easier to manage. Thanks Michael for the update that this is coming soon. Any reference to a roadmap would also be helpful for us planning.

+1 on this and the inability to move certain resources between groups after creation essentially makes Resource Groups unusable as something we can rely on.

Just throwing my hat in the ring. Not being able to do this costs so many hours if you don't get it right first.
I would like to see this option too. Sometimes I delete the group just to change the name, which obviously can't be done if you have something in production.
you really need to stop using display names as primary keys!
Any name should be able to change. Use guids or something for keys and for linking stuf together, not the name!
a year later, are we any closer?
Is there any update on the status of this request?
+9 months... Any word on this and moving resources around?

Renaming resource groups goes with moving resources between groups. As a discovery tool, users (like me) will go back and forth doing these two things to get the resources organized.
A related item is having to define the resource group at the beginning of the task.
How hard can it be to implement those basic features?
A month later, are we any closer?
