Ability to Disable an Activity
Please allow setting a certain activity to enable or disabled, pretty much like you can do in SSIS.
This is important when you are developing and only want to execute a certain part of the pipeline for example
100% Needs to be added!
Honestly I can't understand how/ why this was overlooked given that its in SSIS!
Please add it as soon as possible
I need the ability to skip over long running tasks.

Yes agree 100 % we definitely need this functionality. It seems to be a glaring gap in the Azure Data Factory functionality at present.
it is very much important when you charge for data copy with size & number of rows

There should be support of disabling the activity just like it was possible in SSIS. It should be possible to make it as a expression, so that we could programmatically (based on trigger parameters) disable one path of the pipeline, and or, enable the other.
This idea has been proposed for more than an year now. Just wondering why is this not being implemented.
Phil Parkin commented
Please, Microsoft, implement this idea. Very useful indeed.
How come MS missed this? This is very much needed feature.

this is a must have feature.... i cant beleive this is not alreadt there... :(
Partial debug runs would be difficult with out this feature in ADF

Yes of course. This is very important to be available in the ADF pipeline activity.
Yes this is must to have feature
Sam Jacob Julian commented
This would help me so much right now!
Yes, this feature is very much needed! Right now those of us who have implemented custom logging activities need a way to run pipelines in debug mode but with a way to disable the custom logging activity. Please add this feature soon!
The main use case is in production environment where we may require certain jobs(in this case execute pipeline activity) to be disabled in daily ETL process for a particular batch without changing the code(pipeline dependencies).
Koen Verbeeck commented
I can't believe this isn't possible right now. This makes debugging a lot harder.
Craig White commented
True ETL integrations should allow you to disable an activity. For example, complete data flows into master tables and disable the target activity when environments are not ready or pre-golive preparations of data.
Casey Boyle commented
Yes I think the OP is saying - we need the ability to start at a specific activity so we don't have to rerun through every activity when the last activity in the chain does not work...
For us would be really useful this feature so that disabled activities would be "queued", just like in V1 paused activities would not run but were not lost and were executed after activity was un-paused again

Hi, thanks for your feedback.
To test a activity, you can set breakpoint on your activity (keep white circle (on top of the activity icon) be selected) and click 'Debug' button. The pipeline will start to run and stop after this activity executes.
You can also open the output tab in your pipeline to check and monitor running.
There should be support of disabling of activity in pipeline. when we are building big orchestration of our data work load. To test a activity, we have to run from beginning, which in our case taking too much of time. rather than creating new pipeline and testing individual activity, can you consider toggling of activity will help running only required activities rather than creating new pipeline with copying activities of another pipeline.
