My streaming analytics job says FAILED
... and i am able to start it again.... But i want to know why it failed, so it won't happen again in the future. It was down for half a day or so, because i didn't notice it. I can't find anything information as to why it failed, not on the new nor old portal

We also noticed Stream Analytics is not as resilent to errors and sometimes stops if it cannot write to the output instead of retrying. You can use WebHooks with ActivityLog to detect errors and check if you are still running: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/monitoring-and-diagnostics/insights-auditlog-to-webhook-email

Find in Stream Analytics properties on Activity Log under Overview. Click and find the error tag log on the log list. New view will be open on the bottom of the blade. There will 2 tabs on this view, "Summary" and "JSON".. Click on JSON tab and see the details log of why it failed. Any error will be listing here. If you cant see from the tiny space of view, copy whole json content and paste into Notepad.
