I would be nice with an option to remove/hide virtual machines that are used for testing, migrering and for building images for Citrix, Azure RemoteApp, etc. from the view in "Workspace Data Sources"
One of my customers build Iot Solution based on multiple Azure Services (web Apps, service fabric, sql, iot hub, service bus, application insights).
We started using OMS as a single point of monitoring. OMS covering almost all services from our set, except of IoT... it's a gap in a our solution, because we must use big azure portal to initial investigation.
Please, add native support for IoT Hub and Service Bus as a solution to OMS.
If we need more details, please contact with me0 votes
Provide a web proxy service for VMs so that it is not necessary to allow internet access for IaaS VMs to contact services such as Windows update or OMS/Log Analytics.0 votes
When using the Log Analytics query portal, every time we execute a query, the portal automatically switches to the Filter (preview) pane. When working with complex data (such as AzureDiagnostics or Syslog), this hangs the browser--sometimes for several minutes.
Can we please have the option to turn this feature OFF? I personally find it useless for my day-to-day work anyway (and I live in Log Analytics).0 votes
Log Analytics has a unified pricing for GB of Log ingested. This resulted in sampling the ingested logs, which is unwanted for several reasons (revenue loss, potentially useful logs lost)
It would be great to have a different mechanism for the pricing of Log Analytics (maybe it could be useful splitting ingestion price and querying price)0 votes
Log Analytics does not support CMK yet, please add the support.0 votes
Log Analytics does not currently have a mechanism that allows customers to identify if a log has been successfully uploaded or not, please add the functionality.0 votes
Ability for Log Analytics to provide a way to retrieve the message count per queue.0 votes
Could you add the possibility to rename a Custom Logs table inside a Log Analytics Workspace, please? It would be very useful.0 votes
The value presented on the usage "solution" on the front should display this month's usage rather todays. The amount of uploaded data this month is more meaningfull, and perhaps more important, than what has happened today.
The meaning of today is alvo vague - is it measured in GMT, CET, PDT or ? When does the number reset?0 votes
Thanks for the feedback.
“Today” is the UTC day.
All I need is the default Log Search function. I do not need any of the additional offered solutions. For example, I only need to collect and report on IIS logs. I cannot search those logs unless I install a solution such as Security & Audit. As soon as I install a solution, then IIS logs are pulled in. If I then remove that solution and wait some time then all events stop being collected. Is there a method to collect IIS logs only without enabling a solution that is not needed? That un-needed solution just increases my storage thus increasing my bill.

Hi, We’ve spent some time trying to reproduce the behavior that you are seeing, but have been unable to.
With no solutions installed, we are able to go to the Settings tile and on the Data tab select IIS logs and check the box for IIS log collection.
Can you send an e-mail to Richard.Rundle@microsoft.com so we can follow up with you to understand why this isn’t working for you?
Workspaces with names that have characters different than numbers and latters cannot be linked in Azure Portal
Let's say you've created workspace with name 'Stan-test55' via the OMS Portal. Later when you open the Azure Portal (portal.azure.com) and try to link that workspace you cannot. The name is in red, no exact error appears what is wrong. See screenshot. I've tried to create a new workspace trough the Azure Portal directly and when you try to enter name it says that only numbers and letters are allowed. Seems there are differences in the logic of creating workspaces trough the different Portals. This could result into issues with customers.0 votes
You offer to monitor own registry keys and you can define friendly name and own registry groups.
But I was not able to find any way to build queries based on it like custom registry group or filter "friendly name" contains "mystring"0 votes
