No more touch optimized GUIs
Make tools for professionals, productivity, flexibility and extensibility!
Can you elaborate??
Microsoft have been doing management and configuration software for many years. The applications have evolved since the initial tools during the mid 90-ies. Features such as right-clicking, tree-view-controls, drag-and-drop, multiple windows and so one made usability and productivity better for each version.
Applications were stable and predictable.
With this new web-based touch-optimized GUIs Everything has taken many, many steps back.
We do not administer Azure with an iPad or even a Windows RT machine. We use multiple 24" monitors and a mouse. We haven't even upgraded to Windows 8 because of how F*cked up it is.
We expect to be able to read the documentation and then come back to the configuration and not find a message that we were logged out and lose all context of what we were doing. We want to be able to open a new window with a different view. We want to be able to login every time we start the GUI and not end up in redirect loops or messages telling us we have been logged out somewhere else.
We don't want a GUI that can't handle that I in another browser window login with another Microsoft account.
