  1. Execute read-only stored procedures on secondary replica

    I have a many-to-many scenario close to the post below:
    https://feedback.azure.com/forums/263030-documentdb/suggestions/6611247-support-cross-document-joins
    I have multiple entities, and the relationships between them are saved as documents and can't be denormalized.
    Instead of doing multiple queries against the DB, I'd like to wrap it in a stored procedure to save round-trip time.
    However, current stored procedures can only execute on primary replica, so it would be slow if the users are from another region.
    Is that possible to define some read-only stored procedures so that it can be executed in read regions?

  2. Filtered unique indexes

    I need my unique indexes to work when a soft delete flag is set to zero so that only the active records will participate in the uniqueness constraint per partition. This also makes it easier to determine deleted records in the Change Feed.

  3. partialFilterExpression should be supported

    According to MongoDB documentation, partialFilterExpression is supported since version 3.2: https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/reference/method/db.collection.createIndex/

    When querying Azure Cosmos DB server version I receive "3.2.0" so I am expecting partialFilterExpression to be supported.

    Unfortunately I receive: 'partialFilterExpression' is not supported when trying to create an index using partialFilterExpression.

    I have several remarks here:

    1) Can you provide an exhaustive documentation on features that are implemented and those that are not?
    2) Can you please advertise that you do not support MongoDB API entirely?
    3) Is there a way to track current backlog and status of Mongo DB API implementation at Microsoft? Transparency is the…

  4. DocumentDB project for Visual studio like existed SQLServer project.

    It's would be valuable if we will can save all collections and related scripts in a new type visual studio project. Now only in a database we can observe UDFs, triggers and so on.

    Another option for a project could be compare .js objects in a collection. With a project we would have a chance to compare already deployed versions of our scripts with current developer version of the script.

  5. Azure mongodb timeout after 30 mins

    Currently azure closes mongodb connection after 30 mins and doesn't inform the webapp. So after 30 mins app uses same connection it gets error.
    See details in

    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/48464455/connection-to-cosmosdb-through-mongo-api-fails-after-idle

    Any plan to fix this or work around ?

  6. PowerShell module for the management plane

    Hi

    It would be great if there was a supported PowerShell module for the CosmosDB management plane, in the same vein as the other Az modules. The Az PowerShell team have already done the vast majority of the work with their Autorest project so you'd just need to provide them with a Swagger/OpenAPI definition file and they can help you generate the majority of the code for it.

  7. To be upto date version of TinkerPop in Azure Cosmos Graph DB

    Apache TinkerPop Graph released v3.4.2 on 28th May 2019, but it seems that Azure Cosmos DB graph is still supporting the v3.2 which was released a year back from today. Azure Cosmos Graph DB should be upto date to support the latest version of Apache TinkerPop Graph.

    TinkerPop v3.4 supports various features like having support of min and max operations on comparable like string.

    Hello and thanks for your request. We support 3.4 from a driver and connectivity perspective but there are a number of features we haven’t implemented such as min and max on non-decimal values.

    These are currently on our backlog to implement so will mark this as unplanned for now which will keep this request open. When this moves off of our backlog we will mark this as planned and update you here.

    Thank you.

  8. Make debugging expirience easier and exception messages valuable

    Now error message for queries frequently useless
    "{"code":500,"body":"{"message":"An error occurred while sending the request."}"}"

    And I have no ideas what exception happened and what I did wrong.

    Please- add more valuable error messages

  9. Support for schemas (full, mixed and none)

    Support schema-full and schema-mixed modes like OrientDB. This way one can design a graph with vertex and edge classes. This is extremely useful when modelling known domains and removes all burden to do this in code.

  10. Text search in documentdb with accented characters

    I've searched for an answer to this and can't find it...
    What I need is support for something like a text-analyzer that allows similar accented characters (e.g. àáâãäå) to match their normal latin equivalent.
    So searching for names like "Jose" will return results like "José"

  12. Delete notifications for change feed

    Delete notifications for Cosmosdb change feed.

    Problem:
    When deleting an item in Cosmosdb it is not conveyed to the change feed.

    Proposed solution:
    Implement a delete notification in the same manner as for upserts.
    If the deleted item could be conveyed it is good but the id is better than nothing.

    If it helps I wrote a tad more here: https://www.selfelected.com/cosmosdb-change-feed-and-deleted-items/

  14. Allow us to define global unique keys across all partitions

    Unique keys are scoped to partitions, but this makes it challenging to store data that's supposed to be globally unique like email address or mobile number. I ended up creating a traditional SQL Server table for this, but I'd like to migrate it to Cosmos DB.

    There is one for MySQL. Not sure how hard it would be to build one for DocumentDB.

  16. TTL default value needs to be blank for mishandling

    When TTL selected "On", default value in the text box should be blank to prevent from user's mishandling to unintentionally delete data.
    I did it and had deleted data.. So I strongly request this.
    I think little tweak can achieve my request.

  17. Support left join

    We have a need for the current JOIN mechanism to allow for LEFT JOIN's.

    So code like this:
    SELECT
    c.myId,
    (IS_DEFINED(dm.code) ? tm.code : dm.code) as code
    FROM c
    JOIN dm in c.modelData
    JOIN tm in c.modelData
    WHERE c.partitionKey="8"
    AND dm.dataScope = "default"
    and tm.dataScope = "other"

    on data like this:
    [

    {

    "myId": "1",
    "partitionKey": "8",
    "values": [
    {
    "dataScope": "default",
    "code": "1"
    },
    {
    "dataScope": "other",
    "code": "1a"
    }
    ],
    "id": "ba884879-9b9b-3ff2-dc08-ca6168892ca5"
    },
    {
    "myId": "2",
    "partitionKey": "8",
    "values": [
    {
    "dataScope": "default",
    "code": "1a"
    },
    {
    "dataScope": "other",
    "code": "2"
    }
    ],
    "id": "864625c2-50de-5d56-9626-26b04d8ff1f2"
    },
    {

  19. Support MongoDB's $expr operation

    MongoDB's '$expr' operation (https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/reference/operator/query/expr/#op.Sexpr) seems to be unsupported. When including '$expr' in a query it seems to be treated as a regular field name.
    This limits the usability of Cosmos as a drop-in replacement for MongoDB when these queries are needed.
