Support for transactions via Mongo 4.0 API
Mongo 4.0 incl transactions has been released: https://www.mongodb.com/transactions.
CosmosDB should support Mongo 4.0 API (including transactions)
This is currently not our our roadmap. Will mark this as unplanned and leave this open as we will revisit this in future planning cycles.
Thank you for your suggestion.
would love Mongo 4.0 support too
It essential that this is supported by CosmosDB. The MongoDB shell reports that the server version is too old. Currently, it says the server version is 3.2.0, which is end-of-life since September 2018.
Transactions are essential for a lot of enterprise applications running critical business logic. MongoDB supports this and so should Cosmos
This is definitely something that needs to be addressed in the near future. It makes it a second class storage mechanism not having transactions ability.
Transactions are available in Mongo, so should really be available in Cosmos.
No need to pack all Mongo 4.0 functionalities to this, transactions is the essential one.

We are in dire need of the functionalities which are offered by Mongo 4.0 API. Please could you give us an estimation when this will be supported?
Would it be possible to share the Road Map for what new feature are coming to Cosmos DB for the MongoDB API? For example, when will ACID be available?
