  1. Increase 10GB limit on non partitioned collection

Give there is a hard 10GB limit on a non-partitioned collection, and partition collections are much more expensive, with no auto-upgrade and code changes required to migrate to partitions, a larger size limit on non partitioned collection is much needed.

  2. Support for Graph API in Data Migration tool

Looking for a way to do backup/restore or manual export/import of a Cosmos DB graph using Graph API - or equivalent.
I want to be able to restore state of a database while developing and found that Data Migration tool can do what I want, but does not support Graph API.

  3. JDBC Support

Provide a JDBC adapter to allow for multiple out of the box data solutions to connect to DocumentDB, ex TIBCO Business Works, SAS Reporting/BI, and Tableau.

This would really open up use case possibilities.

  4. Microsoft join and support GQL

I think it would be a great benefit for Cosmos DB to support the new movement to get to a single Graph Query Language. Microsoft joining this movement might help in rapid evolution and acceptance of such a language.

    Taken from https://neo4j.com/blog/time-for-single-property-graph-query-language/:

The time has come to create a single, unified property graph query language.

Different languages for different products help no one. We’ve heard from the graph community that a common query language would be powerful: more developers with transferable expertise; portable queries; solutions that leverage multiple graph options; and less vendor lock-in.

    One language, one skill set.

  5. stored procedures & functions in .NET (C#)

Would be great to have the option to implement stored procedures, functions and triggers in .NET (C#) as well.

  6. Configure RU per region

For a database/collection that is made available in several regions, make it possible to provision RU capacity independently in each region. Use case: Secondary backup region that exists only as an up-to-date mirror of data in case the primary becomes unavailable, not to offload read operations under normal operation. Currently this means provisioning unused RU capacity, at a high cost, in the secondary region.

Hi Magnus. This is currently unplanned by us for our road map. Some context and feedback for you on this.

First, to do the replication itself to the secondary region you need RU/s sufficient to support the request rates for the primary region itself. Replication and writing to the secondary region itself is not free so there needs to be sufficient throughput provisioned to do that.

Second, for the secondary region to be able to function as the primary should a fail over occur, the replica region itself needs sufficient throughput to function as the primary.

Thanks again for your suggestion. Will mark as unplanned for now in case circumstances ever do change.

  7. Support Pandas DataFrame

Support saving pandas data frames directly to Tables.

  8. Support $GraphLookup

$graphLookup is not implemented in Mongo API
If you try to do this with Mongo API (or Cosmos DB) + Gremlin you need to know what the relationships are upfront. Need DYNAMIC joins
    which MongoDB supports today.

  9. Move RU throughput allocation from Collections to Database Level and viceversa

We have multiple databases with many collections and would like to move the throughput allocation from single collections to Database level without recreating it and migrating everything.

  10. Implement a GraphQL Provider (repost)

(Previous post with the same title was closed without giving the correct solution.)

graphql {http://graphql.org/} is becoming increasingly adopted by front end frameworks (including mobile) for querying backend / API data.

Rather than having to translate each graphql query into a DocumentDB client call it would be optimal and very powerful to issue the query directly.

It would also provide enhanced query abilities over the existing REST approach.

  12. add spatial support to Graph API

Enable the same support for spatial queries that exists for DocumentDb for graph elements. Similar to Neo4j Spatial.

  13. CosmosDB Graph API should support array types inside Gremlin properties

Currently, the CosmosDB Graph API does not support array types inside of Gremlin properties. This forces users to rebuild their graph models to match what the Graph API requires. The CosmosDB Graph API should support array types inside of Gremlin properties.

  14. Provide Django integration example

Provide an example of utilizing DocumentDB with Django. Even better would be showing the replacement of the default sqlite db in Django with DocumentDB.

  15. Execute read-only stored procedures on secondary replica

I have a many-to-many scenario close to the post below:
    https://feedback.azure.com/forums/263030-documentdb/suggestions/6611247-support-cross-document-joins
I have multiple entities, and the relationships between them are saved as documents and can't be denormalized.
Instead of doing multiple queries against the DB, I'd like to wrap it in a stored procedure to save round-trip time.
However, current stored procedures can only execute on primary replica, so it would be slow if the users are from another region.
Is that possible to define some read-only stored procedures so that it can be executed in read regions?

  16. Filtered unique indexes

I need my unique indexes to work when a soft delete flag is set to zero so that only the active records will participate in the uniqueness constraint per partition. This also makes it easier to determine deleted records in the Change Feed.

  17. To be upto date version of TinkerPop in Azure Cosmos Graph DB

Apache TinkerPop Graph released v3.4.2 on 28th May 2019, but it seems that Azure Cosmos DB graph is still supporting the v3.2 which was released a year back from today. Azure Cosmos Graph DB should be upto date to support the latest version of Apache TinkerPop Graph.

TinkerPop v3.4 supports various features like having support of min and max operations on comparable like string.

Hello and thanks for your request. We support 3.4 from a driver and connectivity perspective but there are a number of features we haven’t implemented such as min and max on non-decimal values.

These are currently on our backlog to implement so will mark this as unplanned for now which will keep this request open. When this moves off of our backlog we will mark this as planned and update you here.

    Thank you.

  18. Support for schemas (full, mixed and none)

Support schema-full and schema-mixed modes like OrientDB. This way one can _design_ a graph with vertex and edge classes. This is extremely useful when modelling known domains and removes all burden to do this in code.

  19. DocumentDB project for Visual studio like existed SQLServer project.

It's would be valuable if we will can save all collections and related scripts in a new type visual studio project. Now only in a database we can observe UDFs, triggers and so on.

Another option for a project could be compare .js objects in a collection. With a project we would have a chance to compare already deployed versions of our scripts with current developer version of the script.

  20. Text search in documentdb with accented characters

I've searched for an answer to this and can't find it...
What I need is support for something like a text-analyzer that allows similar accented characters (e.g. àáâãäå) to match their normal latin equivalent.
So searching for names like "Jose" will return results like "José"
