Able to do simple search on portal
To be able to view index and count of documents is what we have today. We are not able to see the actual documents also.
Can we have a simple search bar for the respective index to search on ?
This way we don't have to either write our calls to api, or use fiddler etc tools. To have this capability handy on portal itself, will be benevolent in terms of testing, verifying data upload etc.
Thanks for the suggestion! We’ve built a search explorer in the portal. Try it out and let us know what you think. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CUOEEuHUwAAEQsG.jpg:large
Hi azure search team,
I think we need a management tool like SQL management tool, its very helpful when debug or maintain with azure search.
I am using restful API of azure search on my website, my website have sync tool to sync database to azure search and the micro service to get data from azure search. When I'm fixing a bug, I cannot make a query with directly way (if not use fiddler or postman) because I need to know where the error (sync tool or micro service).
When you go to a DocumentDb database in the portal, you have a section called "Developer Tools" where you can click "Document Explorer" and "Query Explorer". This feature is very useful for debugging and it would be nice to have it in Azure Search as well.
The Query Explorer could work so you would have one field for the search query/text to search for, and other fields, pulldown menus etc for filters, order by, sort by etc.
The Document Explorer could pretty much work exactly like in DocumentDb, where you filter by key.
