How can we improve Azure Search?

Support case-insensitive comparison in filters

Searching with text=<xyz> performs a case-insensitive search. However, testing string fields in filters is case-sensitive. There should be a way to do a case-insensitive string comparison in filter expressions.

This seems like an essential option for any DB. I can't imagine it would be that expensive to implement on Microsoft's end either.

We also need this feature badly...

We moved our data from SQL to Azure Search. In SQL, it is case insensitive comparison. To maintain the same capability, we need to be able to filter using case insensitive comparison.

We need this feature very badly, as to do case in-sensitive search, we are using upper function in queries but it is slowing down the query performance a lot, releasing this feature soon will help us immensely. Thanks!

is the case insensitive search can work with wildcard search (startswith, endswith or contains). this is the essential feature i need.

please provide an option to search with or without case sensitive by providing a querystring
