Backup Tables and Blobs
Ability to restore and schedule backups of Azure Table Storage and Blob Storage.
Update: We are currently working on enabling operational backup for blobs and the ETA for the limited preview is November ’20.
Do check out this short demo to catch a glimpse of what operational backup of blobs will offer: https://aka.ms/AB-BlobBackup

Thanks for the update. The preview looks good!

I desired a solution for this too and ended up building some things into my app. I thought others may be able to use it too and pulled it out into a standalone tool. If you are still looking for a solution for this problem, please look at a package I released on NuGet
AzureTableUtilities -- https://www.nuget.org/packages/TheByteStuff.AzureTableUtilities/
You can copy a table to a file or blob file, restore a table from a file or blob file as well as copy to another table on the same account or a different account. Filtering on PartitionKey and Timestamp is also available.
I also created a reference command line code base and put it on GitHub -- https://github.com/TheByteStuff/AzureTableBackupRestore which allows this to be executed from a command line or Docker container.
Let me know if this doesn't quite match what you want, and I'll see if I can enhance the functionality.
I haven't look at doing something like this for Blob storage yet. If you have some thoughts on how you'd want to see it work/features I can ponder when schedule permits.
here is a use case:
the recommendation to store Terraform tfstate is on blob storage to use the state lock. This file is critical for the resource deployment and being able to backup this file in prod is mandatory. ( Amazon support this feature with versionning in S3 bucket )
It is so amazing the Microsoft engineers/developers seem to have no awareness of managing enterprise data thinking replication is their idea of backup
I fully agree. REplication is not backup. If something happens to the data, then you are just replicating the bad data and if not caught it will be too late and all replicas are bad.
Huge demand to backup data directly from the azure Blob/table storage accounts. In order to meet compliance- today users have to move the data to VM and then back it up. This will simplify the current process to take the backup, meet the compliance and BCDR requirements and also save on Cost.
Please make azure backup for storage account blobs.
Request to add a feature to a future release of Azure backup to allow backup of Storage Accounts, Blob Storage to allow granular protection as seen with a file system from a VM.

Regarding the blob, geo-replication is very cool for the HA side, but it is not a backup.
It would be nice to be able to backup a blob storage on another blob storage, to cover against an accidental deletion of the storage account via the portal, or from the code by an error of a programmer by the use SDK (call API) that does not control recursion (and delete calls).
Add option to backup storage account with all containers inside.
And the option to restore directly to storage account to save time for critical blobs
