  1. Backup Azure Files

Please add direct support of the backup of Azure Files or Storage Accounts so we can leverage the better retention, search and restore abilities the product can offer.

My scenario - I am backing up company data by using Azure File Sync to push our files to a storage account. Then I have a VM in Azure with File Sync on it to copy the files from the storage account so I can back up the data with MABS. I'm doing this because I need the ability to search for files and have the ability to retain 10 years of…

  2. Stagger Backup Jobs For Azure SQL VM Backups

Backup jobs for the databases protected seem to only run simultaneously. This puts a heavy resource burden on the server.

Consider options for staggering the jobs perhaps per policy.

  3. Backup all file shares in a storage account with Recovery Services vault

When creating Backup in Recovery Services vault, after selecting Azure FileShare(Preview) and a Storage Account I'm asked to select File Shares that I want backed up.

There should be an option to backup all File Shares in the Storage Account, even those created after the backup was set up.

  5. Why should we need to migrate Exchange to Office 365?

Are you looking for an Exchange migration tool to migrate Exchange mailboxes to Office 365? I’ll give you the solution in this article

But before migration you must understand why to Office 365

So here I’ll give you an idea about reasons for Exchange migration and which is the most preferred third party Exchange migration tool to perform migration

Here are the few reasons why the companies try for Exchange migration to Office 365

    Low server maintenance cost
It has the capacity to grow up with your business
Supports to work with any device from anywhere
    Most simplified migration
    Most…

  7. Automatically mount lvm partitions instead of manual intervention

Currently, in azure backup process, if we want to do file recovery from logical volumes, we have to mount lvm's and then access files.

Instead of manual intervention, i would vote to see automated mounts of those lvm's like in source backedup vm.

  8. Restore from Azure to a ReFS volume directly (not NTFS required)

    DPM - Azure Backup Server
Why is it not possible to restore from Azure to a ReFS volume directly? Why is a NTFS volume still mandatory?

  9. Different backup jobs in MARS / MABS with different RPOs and schedules

It would be nice to be able to configure different backup jobs with independent start times and different Recovery Points

  10. Make the Backup Items Filter Work

I have many pages of backed up databases in the Backup Items list. It has a filter option but it does not work. I have to page thru many pages to find the item I am looking for. I reported the bug but they said they were just going to remove the filter feature rather than fix it

  11. Backup WebApp

Hi Team, the WebApp backup is now provided into the PaaS area but this is not useful for central management and to keep under control costs and usage.

I think that is much better integrate the WebApp backup into Azure Backup Vault.

    Thanks

  12. Backup MySQL

Team, do you plan to implement the backup for MySQL Database inside Azure Backup Vault? Is a big request from users because they want protect data from one single point.

    Thanks

  13. Better restore options

The "Instant File Recovery from Cloud using Azure Backup" which is in the preview is a horrible way to restore files. Since Azure Backup retains the files and folder permissions it is not possible to restore files and folders that have been restricted unless you know to the precise path of the file. Most users do not know this path due to mapped drives and/or shares that do not reflect the true path on the files server.

Since the mounted VHD files from Azure Backup is not a writable media it is not possible to reset the permissions, thus you…

  14. More Snapshots and longer (non hack) retention times

We need the ability to store daily snapshots for at least 10 years vs the current 200 snapshot limit. So at least 3650 snapshots need to be supported for this to be a good solution for the enterprise, a lot of us have Legal requirements for long term retention.

Right now I have DPM set up in the Azure cloud to do this which is kind of silly. I've had to go from on Prem file storage to Azure Files, to a VM for the files to a DPM server to backup with retention. I'm paying for storing the same…

  16. Missing (recommended)/(other) values in RSV

    Hi Team,

While you create Recovery Service Vault (in my case on Windows 10 and Edge Canary <Version 80.0.331.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit)>) in the field when we chose region popular option like (recommended)/(other are missed. Can you add it in this place?

  17. azure files Snapshot limitations

I'm confused. Is the limit for the number of backups a hard 200 snapshots? I want to use long retention times (10 years) for backing up Azure files and 200 snapshot will not even get me a single year based on a backup per day. Am I missing something in the documentation?

Your IP range for the Backup Agent is incomplete. When running against the central us region we found it needed to connect to different set of ranges including.

The following is a summary of connections from the Agent to Azure from a proxy server we used to capture the traffic. Could you update the documentation to include the IP ranges needed for outbound connections?

  19. Make it easier to delete Recovery Services Vaults used for backup

If I backup an IaaS VM, I can't delete the vault for 14 days due to the soft-delete feature.

I can understand the motivation - to avoid accidental deletion.

However, this is a huge pain point in testing / training scenarios. We need the ability to fully clean up a test / training environment and start over.

  20. You need to give us the option to delete backups before 14 days

I am building a pipeline to automate the backup config process which requires running the pipeline many times for testing which in turn requires deleting the vault many times, this 14 days lock really does not do me any good for this use case.
