  1. Add better logs to Windows Azure Backup Manager

When a warning is raised in the Event Log, the associated Details tab contains very little information. For example, I am getting Error code 1073841907. What does it mean, where can I look it up?
The logs (.Errlog) are even more cryptic. Add a decent log, not something that is useful only to the product team.

  2. Remove the MARS agent dependency on PowerShell 2.0

Please add support for Microsoft PowerShell 4.0 or 5.0 instead of 2.0 on Windows 10 operating systems.

  3. It would be nice to have more information in the GUI of the MARS agent when the backups are running.

Having more information in the GUI of the MARS agent when the backups are running would be helpful, especially when the initial backup is running and all it tells you is that the metadata is being updated. A progress window with more information in the GUI of the MARS agent when the backups are running would be nice so we admins can know that it is actually progressing and not hung up.

Also, adding a utility to the MARS GUI to unmount the VHDs that are created during the backup would help. Sometimes Azure gets hung up and you have…

  7. Require a Security PIN to Reduce any retention settings.

Require a Security PIN to reduce any retention ranges. In certain cyber attack scenarios where Ransomware infects a server, a cyber attacker could penetrate the environment, and open the Azure Backup MARS software and edit the retention range down to 7 day minimum. The attacker could then encrypt portions of the network, and initiate backups to overwrite and purge good data. Over holidays such as Christmas, 7 days might not be enough time to realize a breach has occured.
Currently AzureBackup is a fantastic protection against Ransomware, however we have seen Human hackers enter the network and seek out backup…

  8. "Agent Version" Column at "Registered items" list in Azure portal web sites.

I want to manage Azure Backup Agent Version of All Registered items in azure portal web sites.
If the "Registered items" list have the "Agent Version" column, I can verify all agent version of our servers, and can update older agents.

Scenario : Azure Backup start new price from 4/1/2015.
and, the Azure Backup Agent version for new price need "2.0.8704.0".
I need to find older Azure Backup Agent, and update it.

  9. Recovery Services vault services not sent any alert to user when MARS agent server is down or not reachable

Customer not receiving alerts when backup is not available when Server is down or not reachable. No alerts sent to user where MARS agent registered with vault and suddenly backup stopped working since 10 days and customer come to know server is also down. We don't have information why backup is not triggered.

  10. Allow for editing a MARS backup schedule from the Azure Portal

At present it is not possible to edit a backup schedule of a MARS-protected server from the Azure Portal - it must be done on-premise. This is not ideal for a number of reasons, chiefly that either remote or physical access is required in order to edit something as simple as a backup schedule or which folders are protected.

  11. Migrate Servers to Another Vault In A Different Azure Tenant

We have numerous servers being backed up to an Azure Backup vault in Tenant A. We would like to move a subset of these servers to a different vault in a separate Tenant B without having to start the migration from scratch.
Any tools to enable us to do this would be welcomed!
