Ability to restore and schedule backups of Azure Table Storage and Blob Storage.92 votes
Backup of blobs is planned for the coming semesters. We would suggest you to follow this related idea also:
Regarding the blob, geo-replication is very cool for the HA side, but it is not a backup.
It would be nice to be able to backup a blob storage on another blob storage, to cover against an accidental deletion of the storage account via the portal, or from the code by an error of a programmer by the use SDK (call API) that does not control recursion (and delete calls).49 votes
As Sybase license are (almost) free for HANA customers...some will use Sybase for other SAP workloads ;-)
Backing up the whole VM and using SAP tools to do so currently is tedious and manual. How nice it would be if you could have azure backup take care of that and have the SAP ASE backup artefacts managable in azure and speed up the restore. Our Current DB sizes are 50GB - 500GBs.
Enabling a scenario like this would help in getting SAP customers onboarded to azure.45 votes
We would like to have the ability to backup "Azure Automation runbooks" with the Azure Backup service.16 votes
Azure Application Service has a built in backup facility that allows you to Schedule a backup of the Application Service once a day.
There is no built in method to Alert when a backup fails. It would be great if these backups could be viewed in the Azure Backup Vault with Azure IaaS backups. This would enable all backups to be monitored in one place and the reporting and Alerting features here could be utilized for App Service backups.7 votes
Team, do you plan to implement the backup for MySQL Database inside Azure Backup Vault? Is a big request from users because they want protect data from one single point.
We use Azure Recovery Services Vaults.
Recently one of development server operating systems became corrupted. We restored the azure virtual machine using recovery services but it restored both the OS and data disk. We only needed the OS disk and had to wait 7 hours for the entire recovery to complete.
It would be faster if we could choose to recover only the azure vm operating system drive.5 votes
Backups never succeed their first backup, the agent never seems to install properly on the VM.4 votes

SQL Server in Azure should provide an option to restore the DB to a storage account in the same subscription in order to do the frequent restore tests and UAT utilization.4 votes
Please provide the capability to backup Azure KeyVault4 votes
We have som customers who wants to use their SAP System in the Azure cloud. But for this we need a proper backup solution.
SInce HANA Backup is supported via backint it should be possible to add support for MaxDB as well (Please see http://maxdb.sap.com/archive/AIO.Link.Target/Backint%20for%20SAP%20MaxDB.pdf).
I am sure this would be a very nice opportunity for many customers.3 votes
With the use of effective NSF to PST export utility easily import existing data from NSF file to PST file. This is the perfect solution designed by experts for conversion from Lotus Notes to MS Outlook. The given application is safe and secure that migrates data from NSF to PST without any data loss.
It would be nice to be able to see the state of the Azure SQL long-term backup retention without having to use PowerShell
We would like to ensure that if we have setup a specified backup time for system state backup the Job detail(completed) should show the start time same as scheduled time.
Currently it is off by 20+ minutes
We think it is important to analyse the task duration for different load perspectives.
Azure should provision an ability to backup / snapshot a complete resource group . Using snapshot we should be able to recover any resource in that resource group1 vote
I run into a scenario that we need to restore the cosmos DB into a certain time in the past. On the document, it only says it backs up every 4 hours and only keeps latest 2 hours. But it didn't mention anything about the customized backup policy until I reached out to MS support, and also the customized backup policy is
1. Not free (understandable)
2. Not visible anywhere from the console (Not acceptable)
Why the document is not clear about how we can backup and why the policy is NOT visible to us?1 vote
