How can we improve Azure Backup?

Azure Backup to support IaaS VM v2

ATM, IaaS v2 VMs is not supported by Azure backups - but, IMHO, this is needed

Update: Powershell cmdlets are available in Azure Powershell 1.4.0

Are there any Powershell cmdlets available yet to backup v2 VM's?

This was a much awaited feature. Any idea on when it will become GA

    So not really.

OK, then how do we get notified once the *Premium* Storage backup is available?

I was eagerly waiting for this, as we are about to reach production and I've built everything using the ARM model (as all pages suggest doing so, even if many things are not quite ready).
Anyway, to try things out I've used the guide (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/backup-azure-vms-first-look-arm/), but I can't currently follow through to trying a restore.
The jobs log says that my initial backup job is "completed" (both subtasks), but in (Backup\Azure Virtual Machines)|[VMname]|Last backup status it reports "Warning(Initial backup pending)". This means I can't find anything to try restoring, which is somewhat of a game-stopper.

Also, I thought "maybe I missed an option to specify that I want to take the initial backup", so I clicked "Backup now" again (same blade as above), and realised that this triggers a new job on the spot: something asking "are you sure?" or even better, something checking when the last backup was taken would be useful.
+1 for backing up machines with Premium Storage.
    Thanks!

    Hi Team,
One of my customers would like to know how to implement the following use-cases for a VM belonging to a specified resource group:
    1. OnDemand Backup AzureVM
    2. Restore AzureVM
    3. List all Backups of AzureVM
    4. Delete a backup of AzureVM
They would like to implement the above features through the Java Azure-SDK.

..is this available/possible or something on our roadmap. Any guidance would be really helpful as I'm finding some info using powershell but not with Java Azure SDK.

Finally. Azure Backup for IaaS V2 is on Public Preview. You can start now using it via the New Portal, Recovery Services vault

When will the ARM VM Backup be available to the public. This functionality is critical and it has been months without this protection. Anybody have any ideas on how to protect ARM VMs

We need this feature ASAP, at least using the old Backup Vault with v2 VMs through Azure´s CLI.
    This is critical.

An update from Microsoft as to when Backup Vaulting will be available for ARM VMs would be appreciated. We need ARM VMs for our application and also need to back them up.
