  2. How to migrate Zimbra to Office 365

If you want to migrate Zimbra to Office 365 account then you can try a third-party tool like Zimbra to Office 365 Converter. The software allows the user to migrate Zimbra file to Office 365 and Exchange server account. The tool maintains Zimbra items such as emails, contacts, calendar, notes, tasks, journals, and etc.

  3. azure file backup reports

Azure File Sync backups don't have any reliable reporting. Nothing is getting sent to LA for reports to even exist. Everything else in Azure has reporting, except Files. This is a critically needed feature, along with file backup notifications.

  4. Email notifications for successful backups... In MARS

This has been requested for YEARS. There have been improvements:
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/backup/backup-azure-monitor-vms#using-activity-logs-to-get-notifications-for-successful-backups
    and
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/backup/configure-reports
BUT There is STILL NO EMAIL REPORT for MARS file backup of onsite machines. Every backup solution provides this, except Azure. For some companies I have been forced to use other providers, where I DRIVE the backups ;) The latest attempt gives some nice online graphs, but still DOES NOT PROVIDE A REPORTING SOLUTION.

  5. Provide automatic testing/validation of database backups for Azure Backup for SQL Server in Azure Virtual Machines

Given this enterprise backup solution, it would be ideal to have a built-in solution for some automatic verification of database backups (like rotating dbcc checks of restored of databases and then removing the restored database and moving on to the next one).

Extra credit for being able to specify how many concurrent tests that could be done. Extra, extra credit for having a system that might predict how many need to be done concurrently to test the backed up databases on some schedule

  6. Configure Notifications for Backup Alerts in Recovery Service Vaults with PowerShell

When using Recovery Services Vaults to backup VMs in Azure, we can configure Backup Alert notifications using the portal- it would be useful if this could be done with PowerShell as well.

Use case- we want to turn on email notifications on all our vaults, or update/add an email address.

  9. Need to simplify file recovery from backups.

I could not follow "Recover files from Azure virtual machine backup". It was my 1st attempt.

The above does not clearly state the need to complete the process on a different system with the same operating system as the vm. (I tried it on my Windows 10 PC and my own Ubuntu vm).

Working with Diego Vega (Support Engineer) I was able to recover the file I needed. His help, by the way, was excellent and professional.

The solution was to create an new vm, download a script, run the file recovery process, download the file I needed to my…

  10. Backup only OS Disk or Data Disks.

Can we have the option during the backup configuration to select only the OS disk or the Data Disks?

  11. Backup a Replicated machine and be able to restore files.

Having servers under the replicated items should mean the entire server is there. Can't this be archived or have a snapshot that turns this into a backup that can have file restore and server restore features performed at certain intervals like hourly, daily, weekly, monthly such as a normal backup? This should replace MABS since it is much more streamlined anyway.

  12. Azure Backup Service volume full

The limit size in volume is 2TB, when backup job size is over 2TB will make backup failed.
Is there any way that can solve limit? Like use cross volume instead the limit size?

  13. Multiple Online Subscriptions to Azure

Please create the possibility in DPM to use several online subscriptions to be able to bill different (customer) backups separately in Azure, so that it is easier to see what each backup actually costs.

  14. Fix SFC

Please could you fix "sfc.exe" or remove the "sfc /verifyonly" from the MARS backup process? Currently on all versions of Windows tested (Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 10, Windows Server 2019) this command generates 4000+ files per execution in "C:\Windows\WinSxS\Temp*" which results in continually slower backups as these files are generated and never deleted. Furthermore all of the clean up processes regarding these folders that are documented in https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/clean-up-the-winsxs-folder do not work out of the box, the only processes we have found that can clean up thse files can be found at https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/lync/en-US/cbeea1a1-77da-4e0e-a357-f36be1a60f16/when-to-the-files-in-cwindowswinsxstemppendingrenames-get-processed , which in summation is effectively install…

  15. Add azure backup support for SAP MaxDB

We have som customers who wants to use their SAP System in the Azure cloud. But for this we need a proper backup solution.
SInce HANA Backup is supported via backint it should be possible to add support for MaxDB as well (Please see http://maxdb.sap.com/archive/AIO.Link.Target/Backint%20for%20SAP%20MaxDB.pdf).
I am sure this would be a very nice opportunity for many customers.

  16. Add QoS function to SQL in a VM backup

During the Azure SQL backup of an VM, disk latency is extremely high and overloads the VM causing applications to fail. Suggested solution to resize the VM or to scatter the backup do not work. Please add a QoS function to the Azure SQL Backup to limit the load during the backup

  17. Add azure backup support for SAP ASE (Sybase)

As Sybase license are (almost) free for HANA customers...some will use Sybase for other SAP workloads ;-)
Backing up the whole VM and using SAP tools to do so currently is tedious and manual. How nice it would be if you could have azure backup take care of that and have the SAP ASE backup artefacts managable in azure and speed up the restore. Our Current DB sizes are 50GB - 500GBs.
Enabling a scenario like this would help in getting SAP customers onboarded to azure.

  18. Azure VM Backup in Different Azure subscription within the same region

Why we cannot protect an Azure VM running in Subscription A to a Recovery Services Vaults based in Subscription B. Both (VM/RSV) are in the same region.

This is very important scenario. For example, we want to have a dedicated subscription for backup only, and we want to organize backup cost per subscription, etc.

In large organizations, the backup operators are not the same who operate the VMs. From a security standpoint, we want to separate operations tasks with different subscriptions.

    Thank You!

  19. False backup failure alert should be stopped for passive cluster node

Currently we have backup scheduled for SQL which runs on a two node cluster. We are getting backup failure from the passive node.

Ideally backup will happen only on active node. Hence there should be some intelligence built into backup solution so that it doesn't generate notification for passive nodes.

  20. RSV accurately reflect failed backup status, especially for any MS Azure platform related issue

    i.e.
We had a recent issue where are RSV status was all green and there were not backup failure alerts/notifications.
Yet they had been failing for weeks.
The VM was up and running as normal but the azure platform had an issue: hydration issue between Azure Service Management (Classic) model and Azure Resource Manager (ARM) model)
RSV accurately reflect failed backup status, especially for any MS Azure platform related issue
