Julia support in AzureML Studio
Would be great if one could run Julia (http://julialang.org/) code in AzureML Studio in the same way that one can run Python and R code already. I feel Julia would add a distinct benefit that is not covered by either Python nor R: really fast custom code. R and Python have great packages, but if someone wants to use a custom, computationally demanding algorithm, a Julia script feature would be perfect.
Hi Azure Customer,
We will close this for now since it has been 4 years and the product changes a lot. We are actively moderate feedback in User Voice. Please keeps giving us your great feedback, we always considerate it seriously ^^
Thank you for understanding.

I like the julia idea. It would give a real speed up over scripts done in R or Python. That would give the company more users of Azure ML. Julia can call C code directly without wrappers and Python code using PyCall package. It also always calling FORTRAN and C libraries easily. Numba is not available for all Python yet. This reference shows https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/blogs/jfp/entry/Python_Meets_Julia_Micro_Performance?lang=en
that julia and optimized python (numba) have some where julia is faster and some where python is faster. The biggest speed up they show is for optimized julia/python code. One reason to go with Julia!
Actually, If Azure supports python's Numba compiler, we can have User Defined Functions/code that is as fast or faster than Julia.
"We’re considering different options for improving scripting experience." - not sure there is a misunderstanding here. Julia is for fast code, compiles dynamically to native code (C speed), while being dynamic like Python/Ruby etc. Not just a "scripting language".
