UEFI support for replicated VMs
Currently ASR does not allow for VMs with UEFI boot volumes to replicate. This has put our deployment to a halt because of this fact. I would like to see future versions support UEFI volumes.

Any update please? VMware to ASR replication with UEFI enabled would make my DR strategy a lot more easier.

This is an example of Microsoft failing for a prolonged length of time.
with all the touting of security in server 2016, and not to have uEFI that they are based on, I have to wonder how much of azure is still running on 2012.

"ASR supports protecting Gen2 VMs by converting them into Gen1 VMs during failover." (ONLY FOR HYPER V VMS. For those of us on vmware, and there is a large number of us this does NOT work!!!)

Hello Microsoft are you listening? We are going to refresh our physical DR environment or use another product. We need UEFI gen2 support in Azure with vmware vms. We cannot use HyperV.
When will you fully support UEFI gen 2 virtual machines so we can DR our uefi vms to azure?

Hi...our company currently is pushing ASR to our clients for DR solutions, and currently we are in the mids of deploying ASR for one of our clients which their physical servers is running on UEFI boot, we have log a case to microsoft and try to find the work around.
But my main concern is this UEFI boot issue will stopped us to pushed this ASR solution to our clients as all the new physical servers has already using UEFI boot.
We urgently need to know the dateline when is ASR going to support UEFI boot. -

Secure Boot is an important part of the security model. Until you support UEFI, we loose the ability to protect he boot sector. Sincerely hoping this is an absolute top priority.

We are in a similar situation, in that we were ready to begin the process of setting up Azure Site Recovery for our VMware environment. This has now halted and we have been forced to look elsewhere, like VMware vCloud Air and possibly VMware Cloud (VMware / Amazon Web Services) offering.
Would REALLY like Microsoft ASR however! -
