Site Recovery
Microsoft Azure Site Recovery Manager helps you automate protection and orchestrate recovery for your private clouds. In case of a disaster, users can initiate a recovery plan failover that can recover the virtual machines on the target site in orderly manner.

Automatically replicate the new disk
Currently ASR after enabling protection for a virtual machine any new disks that are added to the virtual machine doesn't get replicated.
This feature request is to support for a protected virtual machine to automatically replicate new disk.

Support for offline replication data transfer from on premise to Azure
A feature that enables to faster, effective & secure export of large number of virtual machine replication storage using an external storage device and ship it to Azure for import.
453 votesSupport will be delivered for migration scenarios. In DR scenarios customer bandwidth requirement for delta replication and initial replication are similar. Hence not planned for DR scenarios

UEFI support for replicated VMs
Currently ASR does not allow for VMs with UEFI boot volumes to replicate. This has put our deployment to a halt because of this fact. I would like to see future versions support UEFI volumes.

Windows Azure Support for Windows Server Failover Cluster (WSFC)
Windows Server Failover Cluster (WSFC) is a state of the art HA technology for on premise world. It would be great to have support on Windows Azure, and specially to have support for SHARE DISKS. By supporting WSFC, Windows Azure would be the first IaaS platform that supports application HA!!

Add Initial Seeding support for ASR
We need the ability to seed ASR. Customer's who have terabytes of data on-premises and don't have a huge upload pipe need this ability. I'd like to be able to kick off the ASR job onto something like the Azure Data Box, and ship it to Azure to import the jobs. Then we can do normal deltas with ASR into Azure.

ASR to keep track of VM changes in target region
Issue:
VM selection logic to auto-select the VM size for failover does not automatically change when there is any change (like decommissioning of VMsize selected during protection) on target region.
Even when we manually change the Vmsize under compute and Network it shows all available and unavailable VMsizes for selections
For the VM Size selections available not warning or details is available with the billing implications for the sameRequirement:
Need a feature where there is a cycle of check done for the auto selected VM Size to see if they are available on target region and run the logic…161 votesCurrently working to understand the requirements for scenarios. Will update the thread soon

Azure Site Recovery (ASR) in Azure Stack
To provide a DR and Migration scenario to Azure Stack or from one Azure Stack (region) to another. Just like Azure.
160 votesWe have delivered DR from Azure Stack to Azure. Please refer to this link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/site-recovery/azure-stack-site-recovery.
DR from one Azure Stack to another Azure Stack will be delivered in future milestone -
Replicate NSG - via ASR
Allow replication of NSG and replication or NSG rules between two NSG in Azure regions for DR.

Please increase maximum retention to 5 days or more.
Please consider the following scenario:
A client in the UK gets a ransomware attack on Friday 30th March. The business is closed on Friday 30th (bank Holiday), Sat-Sun (weekend) and Monday 2nd (bank holiday). The IT Team return on Tuesday morning to find that the 24 hour of retention point are also all encrypted by the ransomware attack. If the client was only using premium storage then this would be the case even even there was not an extended bank holiday weekend. Microsoft must trust their partners who engage with real customers and deal with real scenarios in the real…

Support long term retention or Backup integration
When using Azure Site Recovery from an on-prem Hyper-V host (without VMM/DPM), storing 24 hours of snapshots doesn't met business requirements for Backup.
Problem
Azure Backup and ASR can't protect the same workload (and Azure Backup doesn't protect on premise VM's)Solution(s):
Allow ASR to store long term retentionor
Implement an integration into Azure Backup.
Notes: Given Azure backup DOES support backing up Azure VM's - if there was a way to schedule a backup of a test ASR VM that might work (as long as the test VM only spun up just long enough for the backup -…

Recovery Service Vault, Backup storage Replication in ARM
Currently there is no way to sepcify which storage replication is wanted when you create a Recovery Services Vault via ARM templates.
The default when spinning up a vault is GRS, and the only way to change it is to log into the portal and choose LRS before any backups have been applied.
The fact that the type of storage replication cannot be changed after a backup has been set does not help the situation.
This makes automating infrastrucutre builds painful as I have to login and change the setting in the portal before i am able to continue adding…

Reporting for ASR
It would be very useful to be able to generate a monthly report on the warnings and failures etc.. that ASR generates.
Number of critical alerts
Alerts by server
Alerts by typeNumber of warnings
Warnings by server
Warning by typeIf possible, a (probable) reason for each alert
1. The RPO being breached. (We set our RPO to a value less than agreed for the project so that we can flag any issues before they breach the actual RPO)
2. Network/Connectivity/Maintenance (Updates/hardware replacment/failures)
3. Disk resize.
4. Replication services stopping/not starting correctly
5. Conflicts during periods of high activity82 votesCurrently working to understand the requirements for scenarios. Will update the thread soon.

be able to setup a Azure Backup to protect my Sharepoint Online data with a large retention
We really need a way to protect SharePoint Online with a large retention time (3 till 6 months). Let Azure Backup kick-in for this point so we are able to set the right RPO ( Recovery point objective ) for this service.

Restore ASR ability to replicate to unmanaged disks
As of 4 March 2019 ASR supported replication to unmanaged disks from on-prem hyper-v and VMWare VMs to Azure. This feature has been removed on 5 March 2019 (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-in/updates/protect-vms-azure-managed-disks/). Please resore ASP ability to replicate to unmanged disks.
