As of Azure Pack UR8, you can create/restore/delete multiple checkpoints, instead of previous limitation of only one checkpoint.

  2. Multiple external IP Address support per virtual network in WAP with HNV Gateway

In WAP only one external IP address from Windows Azure Pack is possible on a virtual network. If multiple virtual machines require a NAT rule on the same port (for instance 443) then multiple external IP addresses are required.

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for your suggestions and ideas! This is now possible if using Azure Pack UR8 which went out today!

Excited to share that this is now supported at the VMM layer as well as the WAP layer in UR6. Please run WAP UR6 with SPF/VMM UR6 to provide this functionality to your tenants. We are listening to your feedback and implementing the features you need, so please share any feedback on this new feature.

  4. Allow regular powershell scripts instead of workflows in SMA

Most people find PowerShell workflows frustrating to work with, especially given the lack of a good debugging story. SMA should allow "regular" PowerShell code, not just workflows.

  5. Option to select between differencing disk or dedicated disks for a VM Role

When a VM Role is deployed, automatically differencing disks are used. This created additional management lifecycle and performance challenges. The possibility to choose between differencing disk and dedicated disks would prevent a lot of challenges

Thank you for your votes! We’ve implemented this suggestion in the System Center VMM Update Roll-Up 5 (UR5) release supported by WAP and SPF UR5’s. Here’s a blog from Marc van Eijk, WAP MVP, where you can go for more information on how to use the feature (http://www.hyper-v.nu/archives/mvaneijk/2015/02/windows-azure-pack-vm-role-choose-between-differencing-disks-or-dedicated-disks/). Now that this item is completed, you all can now direct your votes to other suggestions in the forum.

Thanks again for interacting with us, your feedback is greatly appreciated!

  6. Make it possible to remove unwanted GUI elements in a supported way

In some scenarios various parts of the tenant portal will not be used by the tenants. Today there is no supported way to remove the corresponding GUI element. IaaS examples include:
    - Remove "Network" option
    - Remove Quick Create
    - Remove Standalone VM

Of course long term the best way would be to have a more granular role based model where these appear/disappear depending on permissions. However until then it would be nice to have a quick fix, as we are now left with buttons that the users can click that will give errors because the functionality behind them is…

    Hi!

We have completed the removal of native network resources in Update Rollup 5. Beyond that we are not currently planning to address any more extension element removal.

    Thank you very much!

    Kylie

  7. Repair disjoint VM Roles

Please provide a method to repair disjoint VM Roles. We regularly see customers who remove Hyper-V hosts and clusters from VMM, causing havoc with Azure Pack VM Roles. The relationship between the Role and the instances is lost because VMs get new IDs when the host or cluster is re-added to VMM. So far there is no way to repair this. Usage is completely broken after this event.

  8. Ability to control the worker an SMA job runs on

In many cases its important to be able to control which runbook worker a particular runbook can execute on. Also, it would be great if it was possible to specify wether several simultaneous jobs of the same runbook is allowed or if only one job at a time is allowed.

This should be possible by setting the virtual networking quota to zero on the plan in WAP and then explicitly giving the admin provided IP addresses to the tenants.

Tenants can now deploy Self-Contained ASP.NET Core Applications. For more information about Self-Contained Deployments, see the .NET Core Application Deployment topic.

Self-Contained .NET Core Applications do not rely on shared components being deployed on Windows Azure Pack Web Sites. All the components, including .NET Core Libraries and the .NET Core runtime, are included with the application. Kudu git-based building of .NET core applications is not possible with self-contained deployments. Applications must be built before deployment on Windows Azure Pack Web Sites.

This is available as of 7th March 2017 – https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=54810

  11. Remove dependency on Internet downloads during installation / Full offline install

During installation, the Web Platform Installer attempts to download components from the Internet. If you are operating in an environment where access to the Internet from the datacentre is restricted (i.e. most large enterprises), this makes Azure Pack and Azure Pack Web Sites significantly more difficult to install. A full offline installation option should be available.

  13. Customisable Azure pack tenant portal

It would be really beneficial if you could allow admins to add menu items to the tenant portal which are linked to SMA runbooks
i.e: on the "New" menu in the tenant portal would be great if I could add a new item like 'Provision a new user' then call a SMA runbook in the background to provision a new user in Exchange/ Lync , etc.

This way we can add our own services into the portal in a single pane of glass.

This is possible by the customization inherent in WAP. You can create a custom resource provider that plugs into WAP and does exactly what you are looking for it to do. By building a custom RP, you are also able to create a custom UX under “New”

  14. full gallery resource pack

WAP is something im very interested in, but the learning curve is steep GRIT is great, but it would be nice if you download a gallery machine and the associated resources for test purposes(vhd, etc). An eval of 2012R2 or similar. It would help you work out where you were going wrong

Please look to the WAP install PDT to install WAP in a non-internet connected environment.

  16. Enable adding of additional capacity to SQL hosting server

Currently there is no way to add additional GB of storage to a server hosting SQL server and you can't add the same server in twice. So if my initial capacity is reached I have to install another instance of SQL where in reality I can just allocate additional storage to a normal instance of SQL.

Good news! This is now supported by WAP UR5. You can use the Powershell cmdlet set-mgmtsvcsqlhostingserver to increase the capacity of an existing hosting server in WAP.

Thanks for your suggestion, your feedback is much appreciated!
