Great feedback! We’re always working on our documentation to help make setting up and using Azure Pack easier for you all. There are also some great blog posts that call out some details and tips that are not available in the documentation. (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/20689.the-windows-azure-pack-wiki-wapack.aspx has a fairly comprehensive list of all blogs and articles written about WAP in addition to our documentation)
Is there any specific part of the setup/configuration process that you think could be better documented? Or a piece of documentation that you found particularly confusing?
To be able to manage individual services in Azure Pack via the Server Explorer in Visual Studio just as if it was like the public Azure solution.37 votes
Hi! Thank you for your suggestion! Those of us on the feature team are reviewing how we could make this happen for you!
Stay tuned :)
Debugging Azure Pack services can be a huge pain because error messages are:
1: top level messages
2: global stack traces
If errors are *more specific it would be easier to debug and would save me a lot of time on the azurepack forums16 votes
This is very helpful feedback, we definitely want you to have as seamless experience as possible when using Azure Pack. Could you provide some examples of any error messages that were particularly cryptic or hard to debug for you?
It would be nice if the PowerShell cmdlets would accept a local file path to the FederationMetadata.xml for the tenant and admin sites instead of requiring an HTTP endpoint.10 votes
...from install to the addition of Start/Stop/Pause and send CTRL+ALT+DEL buttons for VM on the remote console application. The goal would be to meet or exceed the same remote console experience that is available via VMM and the Hyper-V consoles. Installation and configuration should also be much easier than what is listed here... https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn469415.aspx.9 votes
Deploying Azure Pack can be combersome using the current installation process. It requires multiple VMs or servers, SQL, pieces of Orchestrator, and so on. I recommend simplifying the deployment process of WAP.6 votes
Thank you for this valuable feedback!
When you are installing with Windows Firewall disabled (in a restricted enterprise environment) unless the Windows Firewall service is started the installer will fail.
Can this be cleaned up so there isn't as much of a reliance? It fails when the firewall exceptions are added.4 votes
Decrease infrastructure foot for high availability scenarios.4 votesRupi Sureshkumar responded
Are there specific services you are using that you are referring to? What do you mean exactly by “high availability scenarios”?
Allow Azure pack to manage more resources across multiple datacenters. Having multiple Azure Pack deployments breaks the cloud paradigm.4 votes
Thank you for the feedback! We hope to bring this functionality soon!
Allow the option to pick certificates and dns names for portal urls during installation instead of having to do it afterwards.4 votes
Thank you for the suggestion; this would be a great feature and we are looking into it!
Please update the UI for more friendly logging. Would be great to have the following: A more concise view, similar to Windows server event log UI with filters, etc. but within the WAP UI. A CSV(etc.) export function would be helpful (with filters applied of course). Holistic, segmented logging, i.e. see multiple components in the WAP logging UI, color-code the different component source providers and have the ability to set the refresh and filters. Maybe allowing an extension to write third-party log info into the UI from the application via system center or windows server nodes. As more IT Pros are going to be interfacing with the portal, and for some may be the only way to see what's going on, its important to make sure the information is accessible without touching the individual nodes in the cloud.

Thanks for the feedback! We are working to improve how we log and present information to the user. These suggestions are helpful and we would like to hear more if you have them!
Provide load balancing information during installation/configuration
Currently, the only way to configure load balancing of components with an external load balancer in Azure Pack is to use Powershell only after WAP installation and configuration. It would be great to specify FQDNs and URI's during the config phase and would be even greater to be able to specify ports.2 votes
Thank you for the suggestion. We will look into improving the configuration experience for WAP and adding these options.
