APIM Hybrid connection manager support for accessing on premise web services
Accessing onPremise web services in APIM is very inconvenient and requires either complex vnet/vpn setup, use of extra products like AAD application gateway or custom coding of API apps combined with a hybrid connection.
It is not even possible to use logic apps as codeless bridge since LAs are also unable to access on premise web services.
The option of installing an on premise version of the gateway is also only on a future roadmap and handles a wider use case that just accessing on premise services.
Request is to support using the hybrid connection manager in the APIM backend to allow simple and safe access to on premise web services without the complexity of setting up vnets, using extra products or coding API specific APIapps.
Additionally, it is very likely that the hybrid connection manager will have been setup anyway for supporting various app services making this solution even simpler to deploy.
I must say that I am getting quite perplexed at the high resistance/reluctance from Microsoft to making access to on premise web services easy, across the various azure integration products, whilst at the same time making, e.g. access to SQL Server or files on premise easy...

we need also this to be able to integrate with ERP backend system running on prem exposing for example OData services - but only on prem so Hybrid Conn Manager support would be great!!!
This is still not available? Why, it would be an awesome feature to let API management access on-prem via hybrid connections. That is one of the most common use cases for it.
Hello. Please make this feature available soonest. Thanking you.
