  1. Support for HTTP/2 for APIM connecting to backend services

HTTP/2 is supported for APIM client side facing communications, it will be great to support HTTP/2 also for backend side facing communications so that the entire request chain can be HTTP/2 enabled.

  2. Add support for ionic scheme in CORS policy

Today CORS policy in APIM only allows http, https or file scheme in allowed-origins.
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/api-management/api-management-cross-domain-policies#CORS

Ionic webview plugin serves application from ionic:// or custom scheme. None of http, https or file is valid in ionic webview.
    https://github.com/ionic-team/cordova-plugin-ionic-webview

Please add support for inoic scheme. Thank you.

  3. Support gRPC in Azure API Manager

Please add support for gRPC to Azure API Manager.
I would like to expose gRPC services to clients.
It would also be great if we can have REST services for clients that call backend gRPC services.

  4. A process for manually approving new users

Today, you have the possibility to force a manual process for approving a user access to a product. However, if you need to enable simple username-password you have no possibility to have a manual process for approving a user access to the portal.

It would be good for a user to see all products and APIs available in the portal, being able to browse and discover APIs. This means that anyone can create a user and browse APIs, basically spying on a company thru the names of APIs and products.

The other way is to hide all APIs behind Products…

  5. Allow to filter/select operations when adding a new API from a OpenAPI spec

Currently, if you need to create/update an API from an OpenAPI spec with only a small subset of the whole list of operations supported by your backend, you will need to edit the generated spec to remove all the operations/types not required which is boring and error prone, or import all of them and remove all the undesired ones one-by-one, which makes our lives sad and miserable..
A simple UI which allows to filter/select the specific operations we need to import/update would be awesome!!

  6. Soap to Rest - Better error details

Give better error description when the import process from WSDL to REST fails.
At present time the error is quite generic and only give us the last xml node processed with success, leaving us to a painful try and error approach to why the import did not work.
It would be nice to have more detail about the error, for instance the line number in the WSDL, the type of error detected (recursion, etc).

  7. Disable the Developer portal

Could you please provide a feature to disable the Developer portal (a feature to hide the login page) for users who do not use the developer portal.
-The feature to disable the Developer portal
-The feature to restrict access to Developer portal by IP address
    etc.

  8. De-couple Subscriptions from Products & Issues pages

    1) Products are visible on the Products page only when the require subscription is set to true
    2) Users can post their issues only when they are subscribed to a product

Our use case has custom subscriptions and we would like our users to try out a product before actually subscribing to them. We would also like them to post issues prior to subscribing. So these restrictions prevent us from using the Products/Issues pages. Ability to override this default APIM behavior would be beneficial.

  9. Add API endpoint to detach all tags from an API

We've got a CICD pipeline to deploy/update APIs using the API Management API. Currently we can only add tags as replacing tags would require querying for all API tags and then call DELETE for each tag.

Please add an operation to support this:

    DELETE https://management.azure.com/subscriptions/{subscriptionId}/resourceGroups/{resourceGroupName}/providers/Microsoft.ApiManagement/service/{serviceName}/apis/{apiId}/tags

  10. fix erroneous catching of protocol violation errors

When an API (wrongly) return a response body and a "204 No content" return code, a "500 protocol violation error" should be raised by APIM instance.
In fact it is the case, but the protocol violation error is raised as a response on the call folowing the erroneous "204" API, not the erroneous API itself. The error is raised only the following call (whatever API it is) that is implemented on the same backend of the "204" API AND if the folowing call is made in the same HTTP session (I mean during the http "keep alive" timeout).
    This bug…

  12. Integrating Deployment Slot Hosted App Service to API Management

In Azure, there are deployment slots within API App service as we have created it for Test, Stage, Preproduction, and Production. But in APIM, we couldn't select a specific deployment slot through hosted app service to Add APIs. Finally, we used Open API Specification.

  13. Extend billing API to consider fair use of reservations

My company uses a mix of reserved instances and pay-as-you go instances. I want a convenient way to evaluate how much it cost in a given month to operate a virtual machine. This convenient way should fairly distribute reserved instance usage among eligible machines.

    Details:

With pay-as-you-go instances, you can pull monthly data that shows how much an instance cost to operate this month. The costs are a direct function of the delivered value. With reserved instances, you pay in advance and you may (or may not) use the reservation over the course of the years. Value stream (usage) and…

  14. Ability to use certificate as secret for OAuth 2.o

OAuth 2.0 configuration has only option to provide secret. There is no option to provide certificate as secret. This is limiting our ability to use as our client id support only certificate secrete.

  15. Authorize latest DNS domains to create accounts on the developer portal

Customer with "original" email addresses ( for example .garden, .paris, .fish... ) cannot create an account on the developer portal using the "Username and password" identity provider.

They have an "Invalid email" error even though the email address exists.

Would it be possible to authorize all the existing domains listed here for example : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Internet_top-level_domains

    Thanks

  16. Allow option to collapse or hide the right-hand pane in the APIM policy editor

Allow option to collapse or hide the right pane in the policy editor. The pane I am referring to is the one that lists available policy configuration templates you can click on to add to the template editor.

I personally never use this pane and it takes up precious real estate in the window. The user cannot hide, resize, or collapse this pane to free up more space for the editor itself. The "expand" button for the editor will automatically hide/collapse some of the left-hand side panes, but not this right-hand pane.

Please allow users to collapse or hide this…

  18. make the "group by tag" selection standing when exit "API menu" in Azure portal

The "group by tag" selection in the APIs menu (list) in the Azure portal is lost when exiting the menu. It's tedious to set it again each time.
The best would be to have a behavior set in a "preferences" menu :)

  19. Force API to a particular http version irrespective of the http version from the backend

Azure API Management have switched to http/1.0 based on few error calls coming from background.

It would be great for us to be able to force a particular http version for the whole API

  20. Send notification when somebody signsup

Add a notification for when a user signs up in the Developer portal.

As of today, this is not there resulting new users wanting to get access to a product while the administrator is not notified.
